It seems that Netflix is working onBird Box 2. This, according to writer Josh Malerman, who says the sequel is in development. Malerman wrote the novel that the hit movie was based on and, as it just so happens, he has a sequel coming out later this month. That could provide a roadmap for the streaming service to deliver a follow-up. Josh Malerman’s sequel novel Malorie, named for the lead character, played by Sandra Bullock in the movie, is set to hit shelves on July 21....

Back in February, Warner Bros. and Alcon Entertainment issued a July 31, 2025 release date forBlade Runner 2, which would have put the long-awaited sci-fi sequel up againstSherlock Gnomesand an untitled 20th Century Fox/Marvel adventure. It seems that the movie is coming along ahead of schedule, though, with the studio pushing the sequel back to June 15, 2025. Ironically, the movie will now go up against a different untitled 20th Century Fox/Marvel movie, along with an untitled Warner Bros....

A newStar Warsrumor is speculating that Bossk, the lizard-like bounty hunter, will be returning to the universe in the upcoming Disney+ seriesThe Book of Boba Fett. Lrmonline.com reports that Bossk will indeed be appearing in the show, which would make a lot of sense if true. While the rumor should be taken with a grain of salt, Bossk’s appearance would align with the direction of the show, given that it will focus on a couple of bounty hunters....

Fans ofBuffy the Vampire Slayerhave been waiting three years since the announcement that a TV reboot was being planned, and while there has been no word since on that project, it looks like the Buffy sequel may now be arriving in the form of a new trilogy of novels from Disney Hyperion. The first book is calledIn Every Generation, and is a YA novel written by Kendare Blake to be released in 2022, with a story that focussed on new slayer Frankie, who just happens to be a witch and the daughter of Willow Rosenberg, tying it nicely to the original series timeline and characters....

Channing Tatumis going to step behind the camera for his latest project. TheMagic Mikestar has locked down a deal to star in and co-directDog, a road trip comedy that will see Tatum’s producing partner Reid Carolin co-directing with alongside him. This will mark Tatum’s directorial debut and will reunite him with several people who have been behind some of his most successful cinematic endeavors. According to several reports, Film Nation and CAA are launching sales ofDogat the American Film Market, which kicks off this week in Santa Monica, California....

Director Lars Klevberg still wants to make aChild’s Playsequel, provided the chance. But the ball, at this point, is firmly in MGM’s court. The studio opted to reboot the franchise for the first time in its long history last year and the results were a bit mixed. While critical and fan response certainly wasn’t bad out of the gate, it wasn’t the financial runaway they were likely hoping for. Even so, Klevberg says the pieces are there to make it happen....
