Netflix’sDelicious in Dungeonis filled with all sorts of monsters that are just waiting to be cooked into delicious, mouthwatering meals. The Touden Party especially gets to experience this firsthand when Senshi, a dwarf skilled in the art of cooking monsters, one who is always willing to learn more culinary tricks, joins the team.

Delicious in Dungeon

Many of the dishes in the series have some real-world equivalents, but with the meat and eggs coming from monsters instead of more mundane animals. Of course, this also means that getting the ingredients for these dishes won’t always be easy. With all sorts of venomous creatures in the dungeons, dishes also have to be prepared very carefully or they could prove dangerous. However, sometimes it’s a good thing that these meals have a magic touch. Certain meals can have supernatural gifts in addition to being magically delicious.

10The Red Dragon Meal

The “Red Dragon Meal” is actually a set of dishes made from parts ofa slain red dragon. In fact, the dragon’s insides are used to heat the dishes. Added to this, the scales can also be used to heat things up, from dough to the dragon’s own meat. The tip of the dragon’s tail even contains meat that is good for soup. The dishes seen include the roasted dragon meat, a dragon tail soup, and an onion pizza bread.

Cooked on a Dragon’s Scale

The dragon’s flesh is noted for its rich taste and aroma. At one point, Senshi attempted to preserve dragon meat for later as seasoned, boneless dragon hams. However, the hams reformed with the dragon before they could be consumed or tasted.

9Exorcism Sorbet

Senshi and the party accidentally whip up the “Exorcism Sorbet” whiletrying to exorcise ghosts. It uses “Special Interfaith Holy Water,” ghosts, rope, preferably a sacred one, and a strong jar to hold it in. The special water is prepared to help repel ghosts, but is already noted for its taste when in liquid form. Normally, the water is prepared with salt, but Senshi used sugar instead. Keeping with the holy theme, the water is also prepared using candles instead of a campfire.

Sorbet’s Always Best-Served Cold

As ghosts are spirits with no corporeal nature, they technically cannot be eaten, but they can be used to help chill the dish thanks to their cold nature. In fact, ghosts themselves are known to seek out warm flesh to fight off the coldness of the crypt.

8Naturally Delicious Treasure Insect Snacks

“Naturally Delicious Treasure Insect Snacks” first come into play when the party comes across a sealed box, which turns out to be filled with Treasure Insects, which resemble various forms of treasure, from coins to different types of jewelry. After stunning the monsters, Senshi starts dividing the insects into what can and cannot be eaten.

A Good Meal Is a Treasure

A few different snacks are made from these edible insects. These include a jam, which is made from the eggs, larvae, and nest of the insects, crackers, which are made from coin bugs, and skewers made from pearl centipedes. Notably, the jam is used to prepare the “Special Interfaith Holy Water” and, by extension, “Exorcism Sorbet.” After enjoying the snacks, the party ends up discarding the non-edible Treasure Insects, only to learn too late that they could still be quite valuable.

7Boiled Mimic

The Mimic is a hermit crab-like monster that uses treasure chests or similar objects for their “shells.” They are known for attacking with their pincers. However, they are known for being weak without their shells. Much like crabs, their meat can be eaten even after simply boiling them.

It Tastes Richer the More You Chew

While not poisonous themselves, the mimic has to be prepared carefully as their diet is made up of things dangerous to humans, meaning their digestive track should be removed. As with crabs, tools might be needed to remove the meat. The paler leg meat is noted for developing a richer taste the more it is chewed. While the boiled mimic can be served on its own, with only salt to taste, the meat can be used in other dishes, such as a pottage. Notably, a mimic was even eaten intheDelicious in Dungeonone-shot.

6The Man-Eating Plant Tart

The “Man-Eating Plant Tart” is a dish made from various man-eating plants. While these plants are dangerous, their fruit is noted to be quite delicious. In fact, the plants use their fruits to lure victims to their doom.

The Tart Doesn’t Bite, But the Ingredients Might

Despite being referred to as a “tart,” the dish is noted to be salty in taste and has been seen as more comparable to a quiche. The fruit of the plants and scorpion broth is cooked using the fruit’s peel before being topped with more fruit. Notably, a slime gelatin found within the plants can even be used as a binding agent. Senshi is also able to use both ripe and unripe fruit while preparing the dish and had also planned on saving the seeds. That said, the shell it is served in is not edible.

5The Mandrake & Basilisk Omelet

The Basilisk is a monster that resembles a chicken fused with a snake. In order to slay one, it’s important to attack both sides at the same time. With its two heads, there’s even some debate about which one is the main one. They even have venomous spurs. They are also known for laying squishy eggs, drawing comparisons to snake eggs. Not only does the basilisk resemble a chicken, it can be prepared like one and even has a similar taste. The eggs can also be eaten and are noted for having a reddish color.

If It Looks Like a Chicken, It Cooks Like a Chicken

Both the meat and the eggs can be used to prepare the “Mandrake and Basilisk Omelet.” To prepare the dish, the mandrake is minced and sautéed. It is then cooked with a basilisk’s egg with some fatty cuts of basilisk bacon.

4Tentacles & Kelpie Meat Stew Simmered In Undine

As the name suggests, the “Tentacles and Kelpie Meat Stew Simmered In Undine” dish is made using multiple monsters. An Undine is a water spirit that can be consumed to help the eater regain magical energy, though it must be consumed quickly. Kelpies are water horses infamous for luring their victims into water in order to drown them, though it is edible and its meat can be served grilled.

A Dish That’s Magically Delicious

Meanwhile, the Tentacle is a plant-like monster that can be peeled and mashed, or eaten raw, making it sort of a cross between a banana and a root vegetable. Senshi and Marcille prepare the “Tentacles and Kelpie Meat Stew Simmered In Undine” dish to rejuvenate Marcille’s magic. Various vegetables are cut into bite-sized pieces with tentacles and kelpie, all served together with a brown sauce and simmered in an undine.

3The Fifth Floor Meal

The “Fifth Floor Meal” is a three-course meal prepared by the party to help when the party was infiltrated by shapeshifters. Laios had hoped to observe any unusual behaviors while everyone, under Senshi’s guidance, was helping to prepare the meal. The dishes either used the meat of a Cockatrice, a monster similar to a Basilisk, and the eggs of harpy, a bird-like monster.

Can’t Make a Meal Without Breaking a Few Harpy Eggs

The first dish was the “Memories of the Fifth Floor” pilaf, which was made using mandrake and cockatrice meat. Cockatrice breast meat, a harpy’s egg, and dryad sauerkraut were then used to make “The Whole Fifth Floor” piccata, a sliced meat dish. Butter, dryad fruit, and a harpy egg’s yolk were used to prepare a dish called “Sweet Dryad.”

“Jack-o'-Lantern Potage and Sauteed Dryad Buds with Cheese” is a dish Senshi prepares to help nourish members of the Touden party. The dish is made of dryads, plant-monsters that resemble naked fairy-like creatures during their flowering stage. This is in reference to their name, which refers to a type of nature spirit from Greek mythology. Upon becoming a fruit, the Dryad resembles a pumpkin with a face on it,hence the “jack-o'-lantern"in the dish’s name. Dryads are generally edible during these different stages, even as buds.

A Meal Just Right for Halloween

The dish is made by simmering dryad fruit in water, which is then mashed into a potage. Served in a Dryad fruit, the dish also included fried dryad buds and melted cheese. The dish also uses the Mandrake, a plant monster known for its dangerous scream and must be harvested carefully.

1Huge Scorpion & Walking Mushroom Hotpot

“Huge Scorpion and Walking Mushroom Hotpot” was the distinction of being the first dish prepared in the series. It is made by Senshi after initially meeting Laois' group. The dish is made with ingredients found on the dungeon’s first floor: scorpion meat, mushroom, algae, and slime noodles. This means two types of monsters, the Huge Scorpion and the Walking Mushroom, need to be caught to prepare the dish.

Always Good to Save the Broth

Notably, while huge scorpions are edible, they have to be prepared carefully, with it being important to remove the head, legs, pincers, tail, and innards. Cutting up the body also helps it to cook, which in turn helps the meat break up easily while eating. The cooking process also gives the lobster a red color, much like lobster. This dish also proves to be quite practical, as its broth is later used to prepare the “Man-Eating Plant Tart.”
