Stevens joins the MonsterVerse’s latest outing as Trapper, someone who has a way with Kaiju in the same way Paul Hogan’s ‘80s character did with animals in the Australian outback, and the actor would be more than happy to get his own movie with a similar feel.

Godzilla x Kong: The New Empirearrived in cinemas this weekend to mixed reviews, but the movie has continued to scratch the itch of those who just want to see the Titans of the franchise smashing each other around. Leaning into that kind of action blockbuster vibe is Stevens’ character of Trapper, who is air-dropped into the franchise in order to sort out Kong’s bout of toothache. Having been influenced by action movies of the ‘80s, during an interview withComicbook.com, Stevens was very enthusiastic about the idea of getting his own spin-off.
“I’m in. Sold. Let’s do it. Thanks to Eileen Andrews, we’re able to bring some complete nutballs into the story. When Kong has a toothache, she knows who to bring in and Trapper is your man to sort out a Titan toothache.”
There is certainly no sign of the MonsterVerse concluding in the near future, and the recent Apple TV+ seriesMonarch: Legacy of Monstershas proven that there are many more avenues of destruction for the franchise to explore, so a potential Trapper spin-off is very much a possibility.
