What’s Happening with the ‘Community’ Movie?

Since its conclusion in 2014, fans have eagerly been awaiting the long-promisedCommunityfeature film (six seasons and a movie, anyone?), but as of right now, when that’s expected to finally happen is anyone’s guess. Harmon confirmed in 2021 that he was working on the script, and by 2024 things looked better than ever for the project. However, in October of last year, actress Yvette Nicole Brown – who portrayed Shirley – noted that things were now “being reworked.”

FellowCommunitystar Ken Jeong also commented in December 2024 that while there is a script and a plan that everyone has seen, “we just don’t know when it will happen.” There have been reports that it could either be Glover or McHale’s schedules that are holding things up, as the two stars are some of the busiest in the business. Glover is currently starring in Prime Video’s spy seriesMr. & Mrs. Smithand McHale recently took on a starring role in the upcoming horror sequel,Scream 7.
