After confirming the official soundtrack of the film, which includes a performance by Ryan Gosling himself, who plays Ken (via Rolling Stone), Warner Bros. Discovery reveals a new trailer for one of its biggest releases of the year:

Barbie and Oppenheimer Will Fight Over the Audiences

Barbie will hit theaters on July 21, the same day that Christopher Nolan will release his next film, the first away from his longtime ally Warner Bros. Discovery, following the conflict sparked by the release of his previous movie,Tenetand now working with Universal Pictures.

Oppenheimer, starring Cillian Murphy, will tell a very different story than Greta Gerwig will show withBarbie, but there is no doubt that both films are among the most anticipated of the year. The life of the creator of the atomic bomb, and a fun adventure that has one of the emblems of pop culture in front will be worthy contenders at the box office.

Matt Damon, who is part of theOppenheimer’s cast, spoke about this big disputewith Vanity Fair magazine:

“This is the first I’m hearing about it, actually. I haven’t paid any attention to that. People are allowed to go see two movies in a weekend. ‘Oppenheimer’ is one of them!”

In fact, for both films to hit theaters on the same day, being so popular and highly anticipated, it could be much more good news than bad news. The movie industry has been hit hard by the pandemic, and for two blockbusters to bring huge crowds to theaters will be something to celebrate.

Oppenheimer’s also includes performances from Emily Blunt, Kenneth Branagh, Florence Pugh, Robert Downey Jr., Rami Malek, Dane DeHaan, Jack Quaid, Gary Oldman, Devon Bostick, Alex Wolff and Alden Ehrenreich, so a great cast is another thing both films have in common.
