Captain America: Civil Waris just a few weeks away from release. And leading up to itsbig debutin theaters, Marvel and Disney have done a very good job of keeping one of its villains out of the spotlight. But today that changes, asEWgives us a first look atDaniel Brühlas the dreaded Baron Zemo. And as you can see, he doesn’t look much like his comic book counterpart, as he goesunmaskedin this sequel.
The details behindBaron Zemo’s introduction have been kept a secret ever since it was announced that the character was going to make an apperance in the movie back in 2014. Advanced word from preview screenings is thatDaniel Brühlwill not pull on the iconic yellow and purple mask and jumpsuit, with his new signature look shown off in this first image. Along with this new photo, we also get a set of EW magazine covers. These show the Avengers picking sides, splitting down the middle, and getting ready for a big face off.
Along with the first Baron Zemo photo, there are also four more never-before-seen images fromCaptain America: Civil War.Chadwick Bosemangoes unmasked as T’Challa, otherwise known asThe Black Panther. We get another group shot of Team Captain America, which features Falcon, Ant-Man, Hawkeye, Scarlet Witch, Cap and The Winter Soldier. There’s a shot of Sam Wilson brandishing a weapon. And the final photo shows some of the Avengers seated at a conference table as they are confronted by the damage they’ve caused in previous movies. Particularly appealing about this image is the fact that Vision is seen wearing a sweater and button-up dress shirt in his signature green. Says Chris Evans about the challenges awaiting these superheroes in the movie.

Marvel’sCivil Warfinds Steve Rogers leading the newly formed team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. But after another incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability, headed by a governing body to oversee and direct the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers, resulting in two camps, one led by Steve Rogers and his desire for the Avengers to remain free to defend humanity without government interference, and the other following Tony Stark’s surprising decision to support government oversight and accountability.
Team Iron Man includes Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), Vision (Paul Bettany), War Machine (Don Cheadle) and the new character T’challa (Chadwick Boseman), who will make his debut in this movie before starring inBlack Panther, set for release on August 16, 2025.
