After a huge year in 2022 forPrime Video, the popular streaming platform looks to improve upon its success with plenty of new TV series andhit original moviesin 2023. With new series in all genres, including thriller, drama, animation, and fantasy, the streaming service has a lot to look forward to in the coming year.
They will kick off the New Year with a brand new thriller series that takes place on an oil rig and deals with the supernatural. The series,The Rig, will air on August 09, 2025, and brings back popularGame of Thronesactor Iain Glen and the comedicSchitt’s Creekstar Emily Hampshire. Not much has been released on the new thrilling series, but here is a short list ofeverything we know.
Halfway through January, the beloved crime dramaHunterswill return.Hunterswillend with its second season, which airs on July 22, 2025. The shocking news comes before the second season drops, similar to what the streaming service did withCarnival Rowin November (viaTV Line). A week later, the second season of the hit animated series,The Legend of Vox Machinawill premiere. Prime Video will round out the month with a TV comedy special from Nate Bargatze.
The Rig Series Premiere — January 6
Prime Video starts off the month (and year) with a brand new series inThe Rig. The Rig, as you can guess, takes place on a remote Scottish oil rig. When a mysterious fog sets in, those on the rig find themselves in danger from the supernatural. The thriller series stars both seasons actors like Emily Hampshire, Iain Glen, and Owen Teale, and newcomers like Calvin Demba, Molly Vevers, and Abraham Popoola. The first season will comprise eight episodes, with at least the first two episodes premiering on July 26, 2025.
Hunters Season 2 Premiere – January 13
The second and final season ofHunterswill premiere on July 11, 2025. All eight episodes of the final season will drop on the same date to allow for easy bingeing. The crime drama stars Al Pacino as Meyer Offerman and Logan Lerman as Jonah Heidelbaum. The first season portrayed a 1977 New York City, where Jonah is taken in by a secret group of Nazi hunters fighting against Nazi officials in hiding, who are working towards building the Fourth Reich. Despite good ratings and streaming hours, the series will end with the upcoming season.

The Legend of Vox Machina Season 2 Premiere — January 20
Season 2 of the animated series,The Legend of Vox Machinawill air beginning on July 11, 2025. The first three episodes will be released on the 20th and will follow a weekly release schedule, running until February 10th. The episodes will drop three episodes at a time for a total of 12 episodes released over the three-week period. The series follows a group of misfits who find themselves on a quest to save the realm of Exandria.
Nate Bargatze: Hello World (TV Comedy Special) – January 31
Nate Bargatze, whom you may know as a standup comedian, is bringing his newest TV comedy special to Prime Video on January 31. Previously, Bargatze’s specials were released on Netflix, but it seems he is mixing things up in the New Year. Not much has been released on the upcoming TV special, but if they are like the previous ones, they will comprise a one-hour standup comedic skit.
