WhenBig BrotherSeason 26 began, it was all about Angela, the 50-year-old woman from Syracuse, UT, who works as a real estate agent and has been a long-time fan of the show. She shook up the house with her paranoia and scathing speech following the first Head of Household win. She got her archenemy Matt out of the house. Then Lisa, another player she didn’t mesh well with, went right after him.

However, Angela has faded to the background now, and the attention has shifted to another player who has become the only one fans can talk about. But this time, it’s in a good way.

Who Is Tucker on Big Brother?

30-year-old Tucker Des Lauriers initially seemed like a stereotypical jock and model type. Hailing from Boston butliving in Brooklyn, New York, he works as a marketing and sales executive. He has played boldly and fiercely since he walked into the house, arguably the one person in the game who fans are eager to watch and hear from in the Diary Room from one week to the next. Why? Becausehe’s actually playing the game and doing so without creeping in the shadows.

Tucker has made what are widely considered to be graveBig Brothererrors. He volunteered to go on the block not once but twice to help solidify the eviction of the person the HoH wanted to send home. AnyBig Brotherfan knows that a player should never volunteer to go on the block. But his over-confidence proved worth it, time and time again. He won two AI Arena competitions and a Veto, each time with everything going exactly as planned.

Big Brother 2024 Cast Guide & Season 26’s Big Twist

Big Brother 26 will feature a twist that has never been done, have a unique AI twist, and 16 exciting new cast members competing for the grand prize.

In fact, after his first Veto win (second competition win overall), Tucker became even more brazen. Instead of taking himself off the block, he chose to remove Angela. This made Tucker the seventh player inBig Brotherhistory not to use the Power of Veto on themselves. The strategic but dangerous move has worked well for some, like Dick Donato, who went on to win his season. But it hasn’t worked well for others, like Marcellas Reynolds, who was then swiftly sent home.

In Tucker’s case, this decision came back to bite him when Cedric, the HoH, didn’t stick with the original plan and put Makensy up beside Tucker instead of Quinn. Tucker didn’t take the news lightly and vowedto exact revenge. Despite making moves some might call terrible (the Pawn, after all, always goes home), Tucker has backed up his decisions with a competitive spirit and a hilarious personality, to boot.

Why Fans Love Tucker From a Big Brother Game Perspective

The reason fans don’t mind Tucker’s risky, even dumb, moves and aren’t judging him as they might have judged other players in previous seasons is thathe openly admits that he’s aware of what he’s doingand doesn’t care about the risk factor. He’s “risking it for the biscuit,” as Tucker often says in the Diary Room. Viewers respect that, as well as his confidence that he’ll win anyway. He’s gambling with the $750,000 prize money but believes he has an Ace up his sleeve — himself.

Tucker hascalled the gameup to this point boring and admitted he just wants to shake things up.He realizes fans want to see big moves and puts his money where his mouth is. If Tucker makes it far, he’ll have done it in the riskiest way possible. But he’s also building an incredible resume. Fans are enamored with Tucker in a way they haven’t been with a player in so long because, from a game perspective, he’s the only one making things interesting. Angela stole the limelight initially, but her overly emotional state andmean-spirited attitudemade her unlikable.

Who is Ainsley the AI from Big Brother 26?

Ainsley was introduced as the mysterious 17th houseguest on Big Brother, but it turns it she wasn’t just really an AI, she’s also a TikTok influencer.

Though Quinn has been scheming in the background, the fact that the America’s Vote for a third nominee was Quinn further solidifies that Tucker is a fan favorite. Viewers at home voted for the very person Tucker wanted to see on the block and go home. That speaks volumes about whose side viewers at home are on.

Big Brother

Aside from his post-Veto meeting, expletive-laden blow-out with Cedric, Tucker’s attitude doesn’t come across as being arrogant, overconfident, or mean-spirited. He merely seems like a player who wants to play the game, not just sit back and enjoy a three-month vacation in a swanky house with a bunch of roommates. After all, playing the game iswhatBig Brotheris all about. Tucker is trying to encourage everyone to see that.

Why Fans Love Tucker From a Personality Perspective

Fans also love Tucker’s playful personality and fun-loving spirit. From his willingness to dress up in silly outfits to his enthusiasm during competitions — from repeatedly screaming “I love puzzles!” after a win to commentating on his own challenge journey in a fake Australian accent — he seems up for just about anything. Fans can only imagine what Tucker might be like if he were forced to wear a costume like the punishment unitard.

Tucker is (or at least was) arguably one of the most liked people in the house. One episode featured a segment on showmances (or lack thereof) and touched on how enamored others have become with Tucker. Kimo has an obvious crush on Tucker, so much so that he divulges Quinn’s secret to him in a moment of weakness, even though Quinn is his number one ally. While Cam has eyes for Leah, she’s giddy for Tucker. Live feeds suggest there could be aromance brewing nowbetween Tucker and Rubina.

There’s something magnetic about his charm, personality, and obvious good looks that has drawn both other houseguests and viewers to Tucker. Let’s not forget that he can also cook, and live feeds suggest everyone enjoys his food. Speaking of the live feeds, houseguests are often called out for things they say or do when the cameras (and viewers at home) are watching. But Tucker is yet to be involved in anything that has raised eyebrows. Instead, fans learn how much he loves his family, how he has dealt with his father coming out later in life, and how generally goofy and warm-hearted he is. It’s a rarity in this game to have a player who only ruffles feathers in a good way.

Where Tucker Sits in Big Brother Right Now

After his win in the first AI Arena puzzle competition, Tucker followed that up with a second win in a maze-based challenge. In the Thursday, August 8 episode,Tucker won for a third time, taking himself off the block again. Tucker is aligned with others in the house, though the fracture in his relationship with Cedric has created big holes in his alliances. The Pentagon Alliance, which includes Tucker’s archenemies Cedric and Quinn, along with Cam, Chelsie, and Brooklyn, could prove his downfall.

Moreover, no matter who wins the Head of Household competition this week, Quinn will almost definitely use his special power to overtake their reign, removing the nominees and replacing them with his own. It’s a certainty that he will nominate Tucker or try to backdoor him. Even if Tucker wins HoH and manages to stay this week, he would be ineligible to compete next week, whether or not Quinn uses his power.

That puts Tucker in a precariousposition inBig Brother. Should he win to secure safety this week, even knowing he won’t get to pick the nominees and won’t be eligible to compete for HoH next week anyway? Or purposely lose, banking on winning in the AI Arena and/or for Veto? One thing is for sure:Tucker will have to make it four wins in a row if he wants to stay in the game.

Love Is Blind Could Learn Something From Big Brother

Big Brother might not be a reality dating show, but it has resulted in many successful marriages, and Love Is Blind could learn a thing or two.

Tucker’s game is following a trajectory that has been seen time and time again on the show. He’s warning everyone about an underdog player who will take it all if they don’t pay attention. But no one will listen because Quinn has an incredible social game. The irony is that the more Tucker fights to save himself, the bigger the target he’s placing on his back by revealing himself as an overtly dangerous competitor. And the more attention he’s drawing away from Quinn.

For now, Tucker’s only hope is that someone else emerges as a bigger threat before next week’s vote. Otherwise, he’ll have to roll up his sleeves, slick back his hair, and make it four for four. For thesake of the show, fans hope he does. So far,Tucker is the player everyone wants to watch this season. He was the first one in the house, hoping to break the “first person in the house never wins” curse. And, at this point in the game, fans wouldn’t be mad if he was the last.WatchBig Brotheron CBS and stream onParamount+.
