Swapping screen for stage, Reeves and Winter will join forces for the first time since 2020’sBill & Ted Face the Musicin a new Broadway revival of Samuel Beckett’sWaiting for Godot. While both stars are immediately recognized for their movie work, the play will actually be Reeves’ debut on Broadway.
InWaiting for Godot, Reeves is set to play the role of Estragon, and Winter plays Vladimir. The play is a well-known two-hander, which sees the characters standing together on a country road philosophizing on, and occasionally arguing over, many subjects, all while waiting for the mysterious Godot to arrive. The new production comes from Jamie Lloyd, who revealed that the entire idea for the revival came from Reeves himself. As perDeadline, Lloyd said:

“That’s going to be the central thesis of the production, with Keanu and Alex’s own friendship. When Keanu approached me, it was a no-brainer. Their instant chemistry and their shorthand and their friendship is going to be so valuable. This is a very deeply complex play, as we all know, but it’s also a very funny play, and they’re very witty people and their shared sense of humor in those movies and in real life is going to be very beneficial to the production.”
