Shand is a bounty hunter who has been operating since the beginning of the Empire and was operating during the Era of the New Republic. Thanks to Wen’s performance, Shand has become a fan-favoriteStar Warscharacter in just six years, and fans have been waiting to see her return.
While promoting her latest film,Karate Kid: Legends, Wen toldScreen Rantthat her bounty hunter Fennec Shand will not appear inThe Mandalorian & Grogu. Shand was introduced inThe MandalorianSeason 1 “Chapter 5: The Gunslinger” before returning in Season 2 alongside Boba Fett, setting up her role inThe Book of Boba Fett. When asked about a potential role inThe Mandalorian & Grogu, Wen revealed she isn’t in the film but hopes to reprise her character soon, saying:

“I mean I’m not in it [The Mandalorian & Grogu], but if I can be that would be great…I hope we see Fennec again. Yes, because I miss her too.”

Where Can Ming-Na Wen Return as Fennec Shand
Ming-Na Wen is the latest actor fromThe Mandalorianconfirmed not to appear in the titular character’s big-screen outing. Na-Wen’sThe Book of Boba Fettco-star Temuera Morrison, best known for playing Boba Fett, has ruled out his appearance inThe Mandalorian & Grogu. Kate Sackoff, who plays Bo-Katan, has been playing coy about whether she will appear in the feature film. The returningStar Warscharacters set to appear inThe Mandalorian & Groguare characters from otherStar Warsprojects, notably Zeb fromStar Wars Rebelsand Rotta the Hutt, who debuted in the 2008 animated filmStar Wars: The Clone Wars.
Even if Ming-Na Wen does not return inThe Mandalorian & Grogu, there are plenty of other potential projects for her to appear in.
