Connections between the productions of the Marvel Cinematic Universe are nothing new. But it could be something deeper than imagined.The next film directed by Julius Onah will hit theaters in May 2024, while the series that will mark the official return of Charlie Cox as the Man Without Fear is expected to premiere around that same date as well, so there could be many points in common between one and the other, following Marvel Studios’ custom to tell a bigger story than the one each project tells separately.Through Murphy’s Multiverse on Twitter, images of theBrave New Worldset were revealed, showing an important location within theDaredeviluniverse. This is Canal St., where the lair of one of the main groups of comic book villains that recount the adventures of Matt Murdock, The Hand, is located.
The Hand is a criminal organization that operates internationally, and they have a long history with the Man Without Fear. In fact, in Netflix’sThe Defendersuniverse, they were the main enemy to defeat for Daredevil, Iron Fist, Jessica Jones, and Luke Cage when they teamed up.
Unfortunately, plot details about bothCaptain America: Brave New WorldandDaredevil: Born Againare being kept under wraps, so it’s hard to tell how both of these projects will ultimately connect.
With Which Other Projects Could Daredevil: Born Again Connect to?
Long before Sam Wilson officially debuts as the successor to Steve Rogers or the premiere of Charlie Cox’s new solo series, Matt Murdock will return in another MCU series as he did inShe-Hulk, although it might have a much more relevant role here.
After being part of the main cast inHawkeye, Alaqua Cox will tell her own story inEcho, the first Marvel Studios and Disney+ series that will premiere all its episodes at once on November 29. But why release all the content at once and not weekly?
Although there has been no official statement regarding the reasons for this change, it may be precisely becauseEchowill simply be a bridge between the events ofHawkeyeand what we will see inDaredevil: Born Again, it is as if it was the middle part of a trilogy that started with the show starring Jeremy Renner and finishes with the upcoming series, all with Kingpin as the star villain.
Marvel Studios could actually have a larger plan for Wilson Fisk in the future, confronting him with one of the franchise’s biggest heroes, Spider-Man. During a recent appearance on stage of Fans Expo Philadelphia (via Fandom Wire), Vincent D’Onofrio expressed his desire to fight against Tom Holland’s Peter Parker:
“There may be a sea of people between us right now but I’m gonna get you mother f–ker.”
So, all of these stories might actually be all centered on Fisk, positioning him as one of the great villains within the future of the MCU.
