Chainsaw Manis coming back to our screens this year with its upcomingReze Arcmovie. The film was announced very shortly after Season 1 finished airing in 2022, with Studio MAPPA returning to provide their consistently gorgeous animation to the project. But, fans were left waiting for years for the film to receive an official release date. At JumpFesta 2025, it was revealed that theReze Arcmovie would release this year. But, we now have a more concrete release date. Denji, Makima, and Aki are just a few months away from exploding into theaters, asChainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arcreleases in US theaters on October 29.

Sony Pictures, who is overseeing the film’s US distribution, announced at CinemaCon 2025 thatChainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arcwill be released in US theaters on July 23, 2025. This comes as slightly unfortunate news for western fans. TheReze Arcmovie will hit Japanese theaters a month earlier (on September 19). As a result, we’ll have to dodge spoilers online for a month before the film arrives on our shores. The lack of a simulcast release mirrorsDemon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba The Movie: Infinity Castle’s release schedule, as that movie debuts in Japan in July, and then arrives in US theaters on September 12.

But, there was one major complaint that loomed over the show.

Chainsaw ManSeason 1 was directed by Ryū Nakayama. Their work was criticized by fans for desaturating the vibrant colors of Tatsuki Fujimoto’s world, to achieve a more cinematic look. Tatsuya Yoshihara, who worked as an assistant on Season 1, is taking overdirectorial duties forChainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc.The first trailer, which was released at JumpFesta in December 2024, showcased the jaw-dropping imagery and color palette the new film will adopt to make up for Season 1’s desaturation.
