Peter Mayhew, the actor that has portrayedChewbaccain theStar Warsfranchise since it’s inception in 1977, is releasing his original script that he received in 1976 for Star Wars to celebrate the start of filming onStar Wars: Episode VIII. Peter will be releasing a few pages on his Twitter each day. On the final day of the release of the script Peter will pair it with a big announcement. Even the most die-hard fans ofStar Warswill get to learn something new with the release of these pages.
The Adventures of Luke Starkiller as taken from the ‘Journal of the Whills’by George Lucas reads completely different from whatStar Wars: Episode IV - A New Hopeeventually became. Peter’s script along with Peter’s wookiee coffee thumbprints and notes scrawled on the pages are a treat to read and brings us back to the root of what madeStar Warsgreat. The actor released the first two photos from the script earlier today, which you can check out below.

Earlier this week, LucasFilm released the firstvideofrom the set ofStar Wars: Episode VIII, with principal photography under way at Pinewood Studios in London.Rian Johnsonis directing from his own script, with Kathleen Kennedy and Ram Bergman producing J.J. Abrams, Jason McGatlin, and Tom Karnowski serving as executive producer. It isn’t known how long principal photography is expected to last, but LucasFilm has set a December 15, 2017release date.
