Chris Evansmight have starred in tons of films, including several franchises - from MCU films to Fantastic Four to Knives Out. One thing is for sure, he’s never done a single holiday film. Evans is set to star alongside Dwayne Johnson, Kiernan Shipka, J.K. Simmons, and Lucy Liu for the Christmas action movieRed One. The film is currently in development at Amazon Studios.
The actor shares that he does not deliberately avoid starring in a holiday film. In his almost three decades of acting career, Red One was the first Christmas film that was offered to him. He toldComicBookduring his panel at the Chicago’s C2E2 expo,
“I’ve been in this industry for too long, but I’ve never seen a Christmas movie come across my lap,” Evans explained. “It’s never been on my radar. They happen. They’re occasional. But it’s never been something that’s come my way. So the fact that this one popped up, I was like ‘I can’t say no to this. I just can’t.'”
Aside from the script, the actor also loved the people he got to work with in the film. He has nothing but good words for his co-star Dwayne Johnson. He just loved working for the film. He added,
“And Dwayne is just unbelievable. He’s such a nice guy. He’s incredible at what he does actually, he’s so funny. He’s really charming and really knows. What [he] knows, he’s great at it and does it really, really well. And Jake Kasdan, the director, is just fantastic and the script is really funny.”

An Opportunity He Cannot Pass On
Chris Evans was initially worried that joining the film might ruin his Christmas forever, but after the filming wrapped, he was just really glad that he got to join theRed Onecast. He said,
“I just was like, I gotta take this opportunity,” Evans continued. “And it was fantastic. It was one of the best working experiences I ever had. I actually was worried ‘Is this gonna ruin Christmas for me?’ because it’s so special. ‘Do I really want to see my mug every Christmas?’ But I’m telling you, every day was Christmas, and when it wrapped I was like ‘Aww.’ Believe me, I couldn’t get enough of it. So yeah, it was a great decision.”
Red Oneis an upcoming action-adventure Christmas film based on the original story by Hiram Garcia. The film is directed by Jake Kasdan with the script written by Chris Morgan.
