Production has been under way for just over one month onThor: Ragnarok, which is filming at Village Roadshow Studios in starChris Hemsworth’s home country of Australia. The actor and his director,Taika Waititihave been sharing a number of photos and videos from the set over the past month, and today we have a new video which showcases some ofChris Hemsworth’s training. With the Olympics starting up this week, it seems his trainer could have the skills to compete in gymnastics, while the actor does not.
Chris Hemsworthposted the video onInstagramearlier this week, where he’s being given instructions by his stunt trainer about pulling off a maneuver that involves “three twists.” The trainer shows the actor how it’s done by pulling off an amazing front flip with three twists. We then get to see howChris Hemsworthfares with this complex move, showing how he “sticks the landing” by taking a much easier approach. We’re not sure if this is actually part ofChris Hemsworth’s training forThor: Ragnarok, or if the actor and his trainer were just in the Olympic spirit this week.
This video comes just a few days after newset photosarrived, while starMark Ruffalowrapped production as Hulk. Very little is known about the story thus far, but it has long been said that both Thor and Hulk will go on a “cosmic road trip” in this sequel. The movie is believed to add in some elements from the iconic Planet Hulk comics, which was essentially confirmed when Marvel showcased Hulk’sgladiator armorat Comic-Con last month.
If nothing else, this video continues to prove how light the mood on the set really is. We’ve previously seenMark Ruffalogoofing around with some huge Hulk hands on the set, along with a prankChris Hemsworthpulled on his directorTaika Waititi. The filmmaker has even gotten in on the fun with a recent Twitter exchange withSpider-Man: HomecomingdirectorJon Watts, teasing the fate ofSpider-Man(Tom Holland). We’ll have to see what else surfaces from the set as production continues in Australia.
Returning franchise starsChris Hemsworth,Tom Hiddleston(Loki),Idris Elba(Heimdall) andAnthony Hopkins(Odin) will be joined by a slew of new characters this time out.
