‘Dunkirk’ Is One of Christopher Nolan’s Masterpieces
As has become his thing, Nolan shotDunkirkalmost entirely with IMAX and 65 mm cameras mounted on real Spitfires, rescue boats, and a refitted French destroyer. The result is an authenticity that many associate with the filmmaker’s work, even though historians may disagree. Although watching the movie at home does not have quite the same impact as witnessing it on the big screen, there is no denying that the 92% Tomatometer score is one that is completely justified. Additionally, unlike the epicOppenheimer, the film’s 107-minute runtime means it won’t be too hard to fit in a viewing.
As well as Nolan’s impeccable eye behind the camera, the film boasts a cast that many would die to be part of. Hardy is joined by Mark Rylance, Kenneth Branagh, Barry Keoghan, Jack Lowden, Fionn Whitehead, Cillian Murphy, and pop star Harry Styles.

Naturally,Dunkirk’sdisappearance from Prime Video means that it is bound for another streaming service – and its next stop on its tour of duty will be on Max, where it begins streaming on June 1. The film can also be purchased from Amazon as either a VOD title, or physical DVD. However, for anyone with a Prime Video subscription, there could be worse ways to pass your weekend than immersing yourself in the harrowing depiction of war created by Nolan.
