Courtesy of theDaily Mail, several photos of Jordan on set have now come to light, with the actor due to step behind the camera as well as stepping back into the ring as main character Adonis Creed in this sequel to theRockyspin-off.

Michael B. Jordan first appeared on the big screen as the lead ofCreedback in 2015, with the first Creed introducing us to the son of Rocky’s opponent-turned-friend Apollo Creed. Much like his father before him, Adonis dreams of being a boxing champion and is taken under the wing of an aged Rocky Balboa, with the movie featuring all the drama, montages and beautiful brutal punch-ups that fans could hope for.

Creedwas met with critical acclaim, which led to a sequel,Creed II, in 2018, which saw Adonis take on the son ofRocky IVvillain Ivan Drago. While it was not quite as well-received as its predecessor,Creed IIIremains a highly anticipated project, largely because it will feature Michael B. Jordan in the role of director for the first time.

“I’ve always been moving toward it,” Jordan previously said of his directorial aspirations. “When you’re acting for twenty-something years, I think over time you start to evolve, your taste buds evolve as well, and you want to do something different. You want another challenge. You start to want to have an opinion and a perspective on how to tell stories. And representation really, really matters. Being so close with Ryan, and watching somebody my age, who looks like me, shoot Fruitvale Station back then, it really gave me the idea that I can do that as well.”

Creed 3 Will Center on Michael B. Jordan Versus Jonathan Majors

Not much is yet known about the plot ofCreed 3, but it would be safe to expect that it will feature another, very personal title bout. One thing we do know is that said bout will center on Michael B. Jordan’s Adonis versusLokiandLovecraft Countrystar Jonathan Majors.

Jordan has recently hyped the fight, and particularly Majors’ performance, calling him an “an incredible actor, an incredible person. Me and him, we just connected the first time we spoke. And then when I pitched him the film, he hit me right back and it was all go from there, you know? So, he was bought in. He has so many different talents, and things that he brings to the table. He was just perfect for the role, so it was a match made in heaven. I’m extremely lucky. We’re very blessed to have him and I can’t wait for everybody to see what we do.”

Creed IIIis scheduled to be released on August 17, 2025, and will be the first installment in theRockysaga not to feature Sylvester Stallone, with Jordan hoping to “build this story and this world around [Adonis] moving forward.”
