Daniel Radcliffereally wants to enjoy theHarry Potterseries adaptation that HBO is developing. The former star of the saga written by J.K. Rowling has gone a long way to leave his most popular role behind him, taking his career on very different paths.

For example, he recently received his first Emmy nomination for his incredible portrayal of artist Weird Al Yankovic in The Roku Channel’s Original Movie,Weird: The Al Yankovic Story. It is not the first time that the actor surprised the audience with his performances, the vast majority far removed from the childish or youthful tone of the Wizarding World saga.

However, no matter how much he tries to stay away fromHarry Potterwith other projects, the world will always remember him as The Boy Who Lived. And that is something that the actor does not deny, in fact, he celebrates it. However, he has no interest in returning to the franchise, not even in the next adaptation that Warner Bros. Discovery is preparing to bring the books to the small screen.

But, the fact that he is not going to participate does not mean that he is not asked for his opinion on the matter and that Radcliffe does not have interesting comments to make about the awaited project.

Daniel Radcliffe Hopes the Harry Potter TV Series Can Fix a Huge Problem the Movies

Although theHarry Pottermovies were a smashing success that brought the popularity of the literary saga to another level, those who were fans of the novels before the films have raised several critics regarding the way they decided to adapt it.

The universe created by Rowling is really gigantic, and it was impossible to cover all the details narrated in the pages on the screen. In fact, there are many loose ends in the movies, or extremely important characters that have not been delved into as much as they should be, such as Severus Snape, Albus Dumbledore and even the main villain Lord Voldemort.

Speaking recently toVariety, Radcliffe revealed that he has high expectations for the TV series, and is looking forward to enjoying it as a viewer:

“I’m excited for it as a viewer. I’ll be able to enjoy it with everyone else possible, with a slightly different perspective. It’s a nice thing that a whole new generation is going to get introduced to the stories in a new way. They’ll see it as a TV series, so they’ll probably have time to go into all the things. So, for the people that were angry about things that were cut from the film, hopefully, they will finally be able to see the full version they wanted.”

Beyond the conflicts around the figure of the writer, most fans have shown excitement for the new adaptation, which will undoubtedly have much more freedom to dwell on the details of the books that couldn’t be reflected in the movies.

TheHarry Potterseries does not have a release date yet.
