Earlier this week, Netflix renewedtheir hit TV seriesMarvel’s Daredevil, less than two weeks after all 13 episodes of the first season were released on the streaming service. Of course, the new season won’t debut until around this time next year, so it’s hard to say what might be in store for the fans inMarvel’s Daredevil Season 2. Empire recently caught up with The Man Without Fear himself, series starCharlie Cox, who revealed that he wants to see a few iconicMarvelcharacters pop up in Hell’s Kitchen in 2016.
“I have to be careful because we just got commissioned so I have no idea who is going to turn up. Based on the show we’ve created, which is very grounded in reality, I’d like to see Punisher maybe show up, a little bit of Elektra maybe. I wouldn’t mind Black Widow making an appearance, and you can’t think about Daredevil for too long without thinking of Bullseye. I don’t know when or if or how that would happen, but it’d be cool if it did.”
Charlie Coxexplains that production will begin on the second season during the second half of this year, with the show debuting around this time next year. The actor also reveals when he thinks the other Netflix shows such asMarvel’s Luke Cage,Marvel’s Iron FistandThe Defenderswill debut.
“We’ll begin shooting in the second half of the year. It’ll be the same timeline as the last show, soMarvel’s Daredevil Season 2will come out about this time next year. Again, I’m imagining all this, but they’ll probably doMarvel’s Iron FistorMarvel’s Luke Cageat the same time, followed by the other one [of the two] in the first half of 2016 and then maybeThe Defendersin the second half of 2016 or the beginning of 2017.”
In a separate interview withScreen Rant,Charlie Coxadded that he would also like to seeMarvelcharacters Spider-Man and White Tiger appear on the show.
“In the [[Brian Michael] Bendis/[Alex] Maleevseries there’s a really wonderful series, a few issues, where Matt Murdock is defending the White Tiger. And the reason I really love that is because he’s defending a superhero, he’s defending the White Tiger, but he’s also defending himself and he’s talking about himself. That is just thrilling on so many different levels. I don’t imagine this will be the case, but I love it whenSpider-Manpops up, and there’s one great issue where Matt Murdock has to defend Daredevil and so Peter Parker puts on his suit for him so he can sit in the dock. Other than that, I’d like Elektra to turn up.”
Of course, it’s now much more feasible thatSpider-Mancould pop up inMarvel’s Daredevil, since he will be introduced into the Marvel Cinematic Universe with, most likely,Captain America: Civil War. However, that doesn’t mean an appearance onMarvel’s Daredevilis necessarily in the works, because Sony is also making a newSpider-Manstand alone movie, set for release in 2017.
