Last week, while promotingThe Accountant,Anna Kendrickwas being interviewed with her co-starBen Affleck, teasing that she wants to play Robin in hisThe Batmanreboot. It was all part of a humorous bit with MTV’sJosh Horowitz, which includedAnna Kendrickchanging into her own Robin outfit. But could she actually come aboard as this iconic sidekick? It seems she already has some support fromJoe Manganiello, who recently signed on to star as Deathstroke.

BothJoe Manganielloand Anna Kendrick were on hand for the Mohegan Sun Casino’s 20th anniversary event, where they posed for a photo together.Joe Manganielloposted the photo onTwitteryesterday, with the caption “#Deathstroke and #Robin #MoheganSun20,” acknowledging that he’d like to seeAnna Kendrickas Robin. As of now, the only cast members that have been confirmed areBen Affleckas Bruce Wayne/Batman andJoe Manganielloas Deathstroke, and we don’t know for sure if casting is currently happening for other roles.

Earlier this week, we reported that Warner Bros. has set two mystery movies for release on July 03, 2025 and August 24, 2025, with some speculating that one of those dates could be forThe Batman. As of now, there are no other movies set for release on those dates, or even those months as a whole. The 2019 project comes between two more Warner Bros. projects, another untitled event film on June 26, 2025, and an untitledDC Movieon July 11, 2025. The August 04, 2025 project comes between an untitled Sony Pictures Animation franchise movie set for release on July 07, 2025, and an untitled Pixar movie set for August 13, 2025.

As forThe Batman, we know thatBen Affleckis set to star in and direct from a script he co-wrote withGeoff Johns. Time Warner CEO Jeff Bewkes announced earlier this month that this movie is a “year and a half out,” which would place it around spring 2018, although the studio has still not confirmed an exact release date, or revealed when production will begin. It’s possible that the studio has shifted this project, entitledThe Batmanback to either the 2019 or 2020 date that was announced today. If these dates are forThe Batmanor any otherDCEUfilm, it could signify that Warner Bros. is planning on releasing upwards of four DCEU movies per year in 2019 and 2020, which is something not even Marvel has accomplished yet.

There have been rumors thatThe Batmanwill feature several of the villains from the DC Comics' rogues gallery, but none of these characters have been confirmed yet. Another rumor claimed that the movie will open with a massiveprison breakat Arkham Asylum, but that has yet to be confirmed either. While we wait for more onThe Batman, take a look atJoe Manganiello’s tweet below, along withBen AffleckandAnna Kendrick’s video interview from earlier this week. We also have a tweet from Boss Logic that shows what Anna Kendrick’s Robin would look like starring opposite Joe Joe Manganiello as Deathstroke.
