Once Again, Washington Gets Candid About the Public’s Opinion
The Actor Recently Confirmed He Didn’t Care About the Oscars
Washington has never been one to stay quiet when it comes to responding to reporters. He once blasted people for staying misinformed because of reading newspapers, and reality checks are common when he’s in press junkets. The Complex conversation shouldn’t be a surprise.
His recent claims that hedoesn’t care about Oscarsor awards are in line with his past remarks. Perhaps the problem is judging a book by its cover and implying he has a certain opinion because he’s part of Hollywood royalty. In any case, what this should teach journalists is that not every Hollywood star thinks alike, and with a subject as delicate as “cancel culture,” we might want to avoid the assumption that everyone agrees with it. What’s ironic is that Washington may go through a bit of cancellation on social media just because of his claims, but fortunately, he doesn’t seem to care one bit about this.
