At the end of Marvel’s Comic-Con presentation this past summer, the studio announced that a brand newGuardians of the Galaxy rideis coming to Disney’s California Adventure. The attraction isn’t set to open until the summer of 2017, coinciding with the release of Marvel’s highly-anticipated sequelGuardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, but today we have a new video that reveal a closer look at this ride. We learned last year that this attraction will give fans a tour of Taneleer Tivan, a.k.a. The Collector’s massive collection, and this new video takes us inside this huge facility.
TheDisney Parks Blogdebuted this new behind-the-scenes video and photos, withJoe Rohde, Creative Executive, Walt Disney Imagineering, describing this warehouse as a “fortress-like power plant.” He also states that this warehouse holdsThe Collector’s “irreplaceable collection” with items from all over the world. Back in August,Benicio del Torowas spotted wearing his Collector costume, which some speculated could be forGuardians of the Galaxy 2, but it may be to film materials for this new ride.

The video also featuresJohn Mauro, an executive producer at Walt Disney Imagineering, who showcases the actual physical model that was built as a reference for this new attraction. He states that the exterior look of this warehouse, with several pipes running through it, was inspired by oil refineries, and that there are several different design elements at play in this building. We also have new photos ofThe Collector’s warehouse, which you can see below the video.
