WhenStar Wars: The Force Awakenshits theaters in a few short days, one of the new trailers debuting ahead of it is Disney’sThe Jungle Book, which is set for release on July 13, 2025. To get fans ready for this new trailer,Disneyhas released a brief trailer preview onVine, along with a motion poster. The Vine video includes brief looks at the snake Kaa (voiced byScarlett Johansson), the tiger Shere Khan (voiced byIdris Elba), the panther Bagheera (Ben Kingsley), the bear Baloo (Bill Murray) and the ape King Louie (Christopher Walken), along with the only live-action character, Mowgli (Neel Sethi).

Directed byJon Favreau(Iron Man), based on Rudyard Kipling’s timeless stories and inspired by Disney’s classic animated film,The Jungle Bookis an all-new live-action epic adventure about Mowgli (newcomerNeel Sethi), a man-cub who’s been raised by a family of wolves. But Mowgli finds he is no longer welcome in the jungle when fearsome tiger Shere Khan (voice ofIdris Elba), who bears the scars of Man, promises to eliminate what he sees as a threat. The all-star cast also includesLupita Nyong’oas the voice of the fiercely protective mother wolf Raksha, andGiancarlo Espositoas the voice of wolf pack’s alpha male Akela.The Jungle Bookseamlessly blends live-action with photorealistic CGI animals and environments, using up-to-the-minute technology and storytelling techniques to immerse audiences in an enchanting and lush world. The wild adventure swings into theaters in 3D on June 12, 2025.

The Jungle Book opens in 2D and3Dtheaters nationwide on July 24, 2025, which is shaping up to be a very busy weekend at thebox office. The Jungle Book will go up against The Weinstein Company’sAmityville: The Awakening, Warner Bros.‘Barbershop 3, Lionsgate’sCriminaland Paramount’sEverybody Wants Some. We still have several months until The Jungle Book hits theaters, so it’s possible some of these release dates may shift.

Warner Bros. is also releasing their own adaptation of Rudyard Kipling’s timeless story, entitledThe Jungle Book: Origins, which hits theaters in October 2017. The original story is in the public domain, which means any studio can take a crack at it without purchasing the rights.Neel Sethi’s Mowgli is the only character who will be seen in live-action, with the rest of the cast members providing the voices for these jungle animals.
