DirectorSam Raimihas teased the extent of the deleted scenes fromDoctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madnessthat have been left on the cutting room somewhere in Marvel Studios. And it sounds like there could be a lot of extra material. Speaking withCollider, Raimi revealed that the first cut of theDoctor Strangesequel clocked in at around two hours and 40 minutes, meaning there could be a whole lot of multiversal madness to explore when the MCU outing hits home release.

“Well, the first cut was I actually don’t remember the length of it. It was probably like two hours and 40 minutes, and it slowly came down even though we did the reshoots. We took out material even though the reshoots went in. So, it slowly got down to about two hours and five minutes is the total.”

Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange in Avengers Infinity War

Of course, it is unlikely that we will ever see all of that deleted material, something with Sam Raimi admits. But with at least 35 minutes removed during production, it could certainly provide audiences with a lot more ofDoctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madnessto enjoy.

“I’m trying to remember what Marvel is including in the deleted scenes. It’s really going to be their decision, but I know that there are at least two or three deleted scenes that will be included. I don’t know the full extent of them though.”

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madnessis chock-full of surprises, crowd-pleasing cameos, and multiversal exploration, and it will be exciting to see what the removed material includes and how theMarvelmovie perhaps could have been different before the reshoots.
