Emma Corrinhas joinedRobert Eggers' passion projectNosferatu,Deadlinereports. Corrin, best known for their work onThe Crown, My Policeman,andLady Chatterley’s Lover, joins Bill Skarsgård (who will portray the iconic vampire), Lily Rose-Depp, Nicholas Hoult and Willem Defoe. The film reunites Defoe and Eggers as the two previously collaborated onThe LighthouseandThe Northman. Details regarding Corrin’s role are currently unknown.

The upcoming film is a remake of F.W. Murnau’s famous silent 1922 movie of the same name. TheNosferatureimagininghas been a long time coming for Eggers, who serves as writer and director. He also produces alongside Jeff Robinson, John Graham, Chris Columbus and Eleanor Columbus. In 2019, reports circulated that Harry Styles and Anya Taylor-Joy had been cast as the film’s stars but budget and scheduling conflicts delayed production, with Eggers moving along toNorthman. Now with a new cast, the film is due to shoot throughout Europe next month.

The iconic original film starred Max Schreck as Count Orlok, Greta Schröder and Gustav von Wangenheim.Nosferatubares similarities to another tale about a Transylvanian Count: Bram Stoker’sDraculaand is widely considered an unauthorized adaptation of the 1897 novel. Stoker’s estate won a lawsuit against the film, and the court mandated that all copies of the 1922 film be destroyed. Some prints of the film did survive, allowingNosferatuto gain its place as one of horror’s most influential films.

Emma Corrin’s Acting Accolades

Corrin earned a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress and an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress for their portrayal of Princess Diana on Netflix’sThe Crown. Corrin most recently earned a nomination for Best Actress at the Laurence Olivier Awards forAnna X. These accolades have pushed Corrin, who identifies as non-binary, to become a vocal advocate formore inclusive awards.

“I hope for a future in which that happens. I don’t think the categories are inclusive enough at the moment. It’s about everyone being able to feel acknowledged and represented. It’s difficult for me at the moment trying to justify in my head being non-binary and being nominated in female categories,” she told BBC News last year.

Corrin currently stars as the titular character in Virginia Woolf’sOrlandoat London’s Garrick Theatre. Most recently, they starred in Michael Grandage’s LGBTQ+ romantic dramaMy Policeman, opposite Harry Styles and Gina McKee. Corrin will next appear on FX’s mystery miniseriesRetreat.
