Screen Junkies like to keep things timely, so they uploaded their latest Honest Trailer toYouTubejust in time for the release ofStar Wars: Rogue One. Typically, the Honest Trailers gang will take on a bad movie, but they will occasionally take on the task of trying to findsomething wrongwith a great movie, likeThe Empire Strikes Back. As it turns out, even for them, this was a nearly impossible task They probably put it best when they say “You suck, perfect movie!”

Star Wars

Even though they may not have been able to find any major flaws, the biggest sins being that people occasionally sayHan Solo’s name different, they were able to make some valid, and very funny points about what most consider to be the greatestStar Warsmovie ever made. Perhaps the most interesting point was thatEmpire Strikes Backis generally considered to be the best movie in the franchise, but it also happens to be the installment thatGeorge Lucaswas least involved in. Though he served as an Executive Producer, it wasIrvin Kershnerwho actually directed the movie. Coincidence? Maybe not.

Outside of that, they made some valid points in that Luke Skywalker isn’t exactly the smartest guy in the world during the events ofStar Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back. This Honest Trailer also takes a stab at the very awkward kiss between Luke and Leia, which after the reveal that they are related inStar Wars: Return of the Jedibecomes pretty weird. ManyStar Warsfans really don’t love the changes made to the movies in the special editions that were released in 1997, but as the Screen Junkies gang points out, they easily changed the least inEpisode V, because the movie isdamn near perfectas is.

It is usually a little more fun to watch an Honest Trailer when they take on a terrible, or at least divisive movie. But it is pretty fantastic to seeStar Wars: The Empire Strikesback holds up after all of these years, even under one of the most intense forms of modern movie criticism that exists. Honest Trailers are not afraid to nitpick and comb through every detail of a movie to fuel their comedic fire, butStar Warsfans will be happy to know the Force is still strong with this one.
