Classic one-off stories, famous horror franchises, and international spectacles will all either make their Tubi debut this October or return just in time for the spooky festivities.
But you’re not here to see us preach about how good Tubi is. You’re here to see the best of thebest horror moviescoming to the service throughout October. Luckily, we’ve assembled some notable highlights from Tubi’s gargantuan list of upcoming films for your convenience. Unless stated otherwise, each movie on this list will be available to watch as early as Oct 1. Watch while you may, as some of these movies may not stick around once Halloween is over.

The Saw Franchise (2004 - 2010)
Coinciding withSaw X’s official debut on Sept. 29, the original run of theSawfranchise – fromSawall the way up toSaw 7– is hitting Tubi. Notable for its numerous twists and obscene levels of gore, theSawfranchise follows the exploits of the terrifying Jigsaw killer played by Tobin Bell. Compared to other horror antagonists, Jigsaw isn’t necessarily responsible for a majority of the deaths attributed to him. Instead, he places his victims in terrifying “games” that are meant to teach the value of life, with painful, rust-laden traps either maiming or outright killing those who fail them in gory ways.
TheSawfranchise was, at one point, an annual staple, with yearly releases stretching from 2004 to 2010. Though the quality of later films in the series is subject to debate, you can’t deny that they’ve become something of agory comfort foodfor horror fans everywhere. Be sure to catch up on this terrifying series before you seeSaw X!

The Nun (2018)
Now thatThe Nun IIis scaring the daylights out of everyone, you can see where the terror began with 2018’sThe Nun. ThoughThe Nunisconnected to theConjuringfranchise, it tells a separate story featuringThe Conjuring 2’s monstrous villain, Valak. Set in 1952, a quiet monastery in Romania finds itself under siege by a demonic force. After a priest and a nun are sent from the Vatican to investigate, they’re tasked with discovering the source of this malicious attack before stopping it for good.
Memorable for both Bonnie Aarons' terrifying performance and for being one of the few wholly original stories in theConjuringuniverse,The Nunis a must-see film for fans of the long-running horror franchise. There’s no need to worry if you’re not aConjuringfan, either. This film works completely fine as a standalone horror flick.

I Saw the Devil (2010)
I Saw the Devilis easily one of the most harrowing Korean horror films, carrying with it a terrifying premise. An agent of the National Intelligence Service (Lee Byung-hun) gets into a tense conflict after a serial killer (Choi Min-sik) brutally murders his wife. However, instead of relying on the criminal justice system, an unconventional form of revenge is employed. Constant surveillance of the killer allows our NIS agent to make his life a living Hell. But in this pursuit for revenge, will our “hero” find himself wading into the same darkness that enveloped our killer?
WhileI Saw the Devilborders more on being a thriller than an outright horror film, some of the content here is genuinely perturbing. Needless to say, those with weak stomachs may want to ease up on the popcorn throughout this grisly revenge tale. Combine that with an utterly bleak ending, and you have one of thescariest Korean filmson Tubi.

I Saw the Devilwill be available to watch in either a subtitled or dubbed format on Oct 13.

In the Mouth of Madness (1995)
Though a slew ofJohn Carpenter moviesare coming to Tubi this October, includingThey LiveandThe Ward, we have to give special mention toIn the Mouth of Madness. One of the few times Carpenter would venture into cosmic horror,In the Mouth of Madnesssees Sam Neill playing an insurance investigator wrapped up in the disappearance of a popular horror author. But during his ongoing investigation, he begins questioning his own sanity as the lines between fantasy and reality start to fray.
Sam Neill carries the film on his shoulders as he’s previously done with his multiple horror-themed roles. Though it would see mixed reviews during its original release,In the Mouth of Madnesshas since garnered a cult following, with many praising its focus on psychological elements instead of outright scares. It’s a movie that’ll ultimately creep up on you until its terrifying conclusion.
Arachnophobia (1990)
Let’s dial things back a bit. If you enjoy a good scare but aren’t as into the blood and guts, you may find yourself right at home with the 1990 horror filmArachnophobia. Co-starring Jeff Daniels and John Goodman, this horror film wears its subject on its sleeves. When a small town in California becomes the subject of a spider invasion, it’s up to a family doctor and a motley crew of amateur exterminators to put a stop to it.
Produced by the now-defunct Hollywood Pictures, a production label of Walt Disney Studios, this Halloween film trends more toward comedy than outright scares. Even if spiders give you the creeps, you’ll find yourself smiling at its surprisingly subdued atmosphere. It’s a horror film that can be more easilyenjoyed by all ages, making it a perfect closer to a night of Trick-or-Treating.

Oculus (2014)
If you wrote off the 2014 horror filmOculusduring its original release, you may want to reconsider.Directed by Mike FlanaganofHaunting of Hill HouseandDoctor Sleepfame,Oculussees two different plots told simultaneously: one set in the present and the other told exclusively through flashbacks. The two stories coalesce to paint a tragic event surrounding the fate of two siblings whose parents were ultimately killed in a horrifying incident. The truth behind their death, however, may place the blame solely on a strange antique mirror.
Acting as Flanagan’s sophomore film, being the first of his given financial backing by companies like Blumhouse,Oculuswould be an important stepping stone prior to Flanagan’s success in the horror genre. That being said, this terrifying story still works just as well more than ten years after it originally debuted. Some have even noted that themes established here, like familial trauma, would be implemented in future Flanagan projects.
