That is, until they start to unravel the Park’s family secrets, which sends them spiraling and turning on each other.

‘The Ghost and the Darkness’ (1996)
The Ghost and the Darknessis based on the true story of a pair of lions known as the “Tsavo man-eaters,” who in 1898 were responsible for the deaths of around 130 workers on the Kenya-Uganda railway. The movie follows Lt. Colonel John Henry Patterson (Val Kilmer), who oversees the construction, only for the operations to be halted by the deadly lions. British hunter Charles Remington (Michael Douglas) is brought in to help hunt the tigers, but after several failed hunts, the two are forced to get closer to finish off the predators hunting humans.

The film offers a unique premise, based on a real-life incident of wildlife hunting people, which makes for a highly engaging story. The landscape of Africa is perfectly balanced between natural beauty and unknown terror. Additionally, the pairing of Michael Douglas and Val Kilmer is exceptional, with the two offering up some of their best performances of all time.
