Huluis known for having a slew of quality television shows available on its streaming platform, and the handful of offerings that will be available next month are no different. Unlike its Disney companion, however, Hulu’s upcoming shows are not quite as family-friendly. That isn’t to say Hulu’s new shows don’t look appealing. Instead, they’re simply not for everyone.
With one true-crime series making a season 2 return,another true-crime seriesprovides a unique perspective on a well-established genre. Fans of the WWE will likely want to check out the newest reality show,Love & WWE: Bianca & Montez, about one of wrestling’s most famous power couples. Amy Schumer returns for a second season of her critically acclaimed dramedy series,Life & Beth. Finally, the highly anticipatedShogun, produced by and starring Hiroyuki Sanada, thrusts audiences into the middle of Japan during the war-wrought 17th century.

Love & WWE: Bianca & Montez

A new eight-part reality series,Love & WWE: Bianca & Montezfollows the lives of WWE’s famous power couple, Bianca Belair and Montez Ford. The inaugural season chronicles the couple as they embark on their journey to WrestleMania. With Bianca fighting to maintain her place at the top, Montez continues to ascend withinthe wrestling world. With the support of their loving family and friends, the duo continues to forge WWE history with every move they make.
Bianca is only one of two women who has won a WrestleMania main event and holds the record for the longest reign as Raw Women’s Champion. Montez, on the other hand, is part of a tag team known as the Street Profits, who continue to break championship records every year. Known for making her own wrestling gear, as well as some of her husband’s, fans might be able to see a glimpse of such talents when the show premieres at the beginning of next month.

Atrue crime docuseries,Death in the Dormstells the story of different college students from different colleges throughout the country, all of whom are senselessly murdered during their time away from home. The first season included investigations of Western Kentucky University, the University of South Carolina, the University of Florida, and UCLA.
The newest season seeks to discuss the lives of Latasha Norman from Jackson State University, Max Gruver from Louisiana State University, Marlin Barnes and his friend Timwanika Lumpkins from the University of Miami, Jenna Burleigh from Temple University, Haley Anderson from Binghamton University, and Patrick Moffly from the College of Charleston. Through the emotional testimony from the victim’s loved ones as well as interviews with the local law enforcement, each episode shines a light on each individual whose life was tragically cut short. Highlighting the grief of their family and friends, the series aims to display their fight to bring each killer to justice.Season 1 ofDeath in the Dormsis currently streaming on Hulu.

Shogun (2024)
A historical drama,Shogunis a limited seriesbased on the 1975 bookof the same name by James Clavell. Set in Feudal Japan in the year 1600, the show follows Lord Yoshii Toranaga (Hiroyuki Sanada), who is fighting his enemies, who have all united against him. With war on the horizon, a mysterious European ship is found stranded in a local fishing village.
Upon his unexpected arrival in Japan, the ship’s sailor, John Blackthorne (Cosmo Jarvis), provides information to Toranaga that could prove vital in swaying the political landscape as well as aiding Blackthorne in thwarting his own enemies, the Jesuit priests and the Portuguese merchants. The men’s lives become inextricably linked via their interpreter, Toda Mariko (Anna Sawai), a mysterious Christian noblewoman who ultimately struggles with her commitment to her faith, her newfound relationship with Blackthorne, and the duty she feels to her late father.
As we head into February, be sure to look out forMe, Hereafter, a true crime four-part miniseries that takes audiences inside various murder investigations and provides the deceased with a voice of their own, as if they were speaking from beyond the grave. Unlike most true crime docuseries of the past, Hulu’s show utilizes voice actors to narrate the unfolding investigation from the perspective of the victims. Billed as a genre-bending docu-drama, the series is definitely different from themajority of true-crimeshows currently available to stream. Though it’s yet to release any official images or trailers, fans of the genre will undoubtedly want to check out the newest twist on true-crime storytelling when it arrives on Feb. 29.
