The New Avatar Will Face Human Opposition
A press releaseannouncing the new show read, “Avatar: Seven Havensis set in a world shattered by a devastating cataclysm.A young Earthbender discovers she’s the new Avatar after Korra – but in this dangerous era, that title marks her as humanity’s destroyer, not its savior. Hunted by both human and spirit enemies, she and her long-lost twin must uncover their mysterious origins and save the Seven Havens before civilization’s last strongholds collapse.”
This series will be a bit different from the last twoAvatarseries. The new Avatar will have a lot on her plate as she tries to save humanity while also being rejected by people. She’ll also need to reconnect with her twin before she can be ready to save the world.
It’s unclear whatAvatarcharacters will appear in the show at this point.Depending on when the series is set, Korra fromthe last series,The Legend of Korra, could still be alive. The press release’s mention of spirit enemies could also include someAvatar: The Last Airbendercharacters who might come back in spirit form. The series will also have plenty of new characters with ties to the bending ways of the last two series.
How Many Episodes Will ‘Avatar: Seven Havens’ Have?
Avatar fans won’t have to wait to see ifAvatar: Seven Havensgets a second season, as the announcement saidthe series had a two-season order. The seasons are labeled “Book 1” and “Book 2.“The only disappointing part of this order is it sounds like those two seasons might be all that’s needed to tell this new avatar’s story, with little hope for a third season.
The series will have a total of 26 episodes. Each book will have 13 episodes, all premiering on Nickelodeon. Episodes will likely be a half-hour, in keeping withwhat’s typical for Nickelodeon. Apparently, the reason forAvatar: Seven Havens' apocalyptic setting is that Korra blows up the world. The world is now split into seven safe areas, hence the seven havens in the title. The series' Avatar is an Earthbendercurrently named Pavi, who’s young and lives on the streets. She lost one of her legs, and she has a four-legged animal companion named Geet.
According toKnight Edge Media, the secret society the White Lotus (no, not that one) will also play a large role in the series. The White Lotus keep watch over Pavi’s twin sister, Nisha, who lives a much better life than Pavi. Nisha will have her own animal companion as well as an Airbender companion named Jae.Nisha and Pavi will be reunited and fight over who the Avatar is, although they’re said to both be Avatars.
