With three seasons under its belt,The Mandalorianis arguably one of the best shows on Disney+ and one of the best narratives in theStar Warsfranchise. Set five years after the events ofReturn of the Jedi, the series follows a bounty hunter named Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal), known as the Mandalorian/Mando, who travels the farthest reaches of the galaxy during the time of the New Republic. When he’s hired to retrieve a unique child named Grogu, Din Djarin’s life is completely changed forever. Rather than fulfill the job, he makes the choice to protect Grogu from the grip of former Imperial commander Moff Gideon (Giancarlo Esposito), who aims to exploit the child’s abilities with the Force. As the pair travel the galaxy, they encounter various threats, as well as a Jedi or two who aim to foster Grogu’s powerful connection to the Force.

Since the show’s most recent season premiered back in March 2023, fans have been anxiously waiting for Din Djarin and Grogu’s return. However, because of the Writers Guild and SAG-AFTRA strikes in 2023, the fourth season was heavily delayed. As a result, the studio decided to shift gears and prioritize a Mandalorian and Grogu film instead, aptly titledTheMandalorian and Grogu. Originally designed and written to be the fourth season of the series, it has been reworked to fit a theatrical format and is scheduled to be released in 2026. While there still isn’t a lot of information available regarding the narrative, here’s everything we know about the film so far.
