The unruly world ofFamily Guyis not complete without the family’s eldest daughter, Meg’s shining personality — often circling about teenage angst, awkwardness, and the once-in-a-blue-moon moments of wit.Family Guyhas a whopping total of 22 seasons, starting from 1999 until present.
Being the eldest daughter of the dysfunctional Griffin family, Meg Griffin has her own way of navigating her life as a daughter and as a person in society. The various remarks from her family members drive her to have her own style of humor and self-deprecating words to let her personality shine through.

Sibling rivalry, teasing from parents, and hormones — the holy trinity for Meg to have some of the most iconic quotes throughout the show’s run. Here are some of them.
20“Everybody! Guess what I am?”
Considering that Meg is always the target of teasing wherever she is, her question isn’t answered well by any means. While she excitedly asks her family so that she can tell them what’s on her mind, the response she gets isn’t a nice one, which, of course, comes from thehighly intellectual Stewie. He answers with what he sees as the truth, that she is “…the end result of a drunken back seat grope-fest and a broken prophylactic?”
19“So, anyone wanna ask me about my week?”
Meg’s last-minute appearance in the show’s Season 18, Episode 11 quite perfectly sums up her whole life being the eldest daughter of the Griffin family. After everything that goes down in the episode (none of which she takes part in), Meg conveniently shows up at the very last minute and tries to play the protagonist.
She asks her question, whichno one cares to answer, except for Peter’s desperate calls for the rolling credits. Meg, being the fun and tough cookie she is, goes on and on about her week as the credits start to roll.

18"Sometimes, it’s really hard being me. So I guess I just make ‘meganaid.'"
Meg comes to the aid of Joe, lending a helping hand. But taking care of someone isn’t as easy as she initially thought. One hurdle after another, she takes a breather and coins her iconic “meganaid” as a joke to lighten up her mood amidst the difficulties. Her wit and humor always come at the right time and for the right cause.
17“Brian, you’re acting hweird.”
It’s not Meg Griffin if she doesn’t throw unexpected dialogues at people. In this case, the victim is Brian – who is super patient in facing the absurdness of the Griffin family members. If any, it’s more likeMeg who’s acting hweird, but hweird is the new normal for Meg.
Brian wonders why she speaks with the emphasis on the letter “h” — which, in the episode, she gets from Stewie who also has the same h-emphasis conversation with Brian. If Meg had a superpower, it would be to annoy Brian.

16“I’ve never been in a picture before.”
One thing that Meg is constantly reminded of her entire life is the fact that people don’t see her appearance as attractive. Though relative, her family members all seem to agree on that. Therefore, when Meg suddenly gets asked if she has ever modeled before, her honest sad undertone answer comes out naturally.
15“I HATE YOU ALL!”
Being trapped in a panic room always calls for panic to loom over everyone. In this episode, the Griffin family is stuck in a panic room, and the father decides to tell stories about his ancestors.

As the stories go on, Meg is once again reminded that her existence isn’t the prime time of the family, driving her to express what’s on her mind. This interaction comes across as a mix of funny and frustrating — perhaps the feeling that firstborns know all too well.
14“You were listening the whole time?”
The episode’s plot is very similar to that ofBreaking Bad— someone buys a farm, and in this case, it’s Peter, then he becomes a meth dealer. When things get hard, the Griffin family is no stranger to jumping straight into a foreign idea and figuring it out as they go.
Meg, tired of all the craziness she’s facing with her family, starts ranting about the most random collection of things one could think of: unicorns, lip gloss, Channing Tatum — with little to no shame. Only then does reality hit her when her father apparently was listening to every word said under his roof.

13"Fine. But if a boy calls, please don’t tell them I’m wrist deep in poopy."
Having a newborn baby in the house calls for extra help, and it isn’t uncommon for the firstborn of the family to get to do the honor. Lois, exhausted and occupied with a million other things at home, asks Meg to change Stewie’s diaper. Though reluctant, Meg helps her mother anyway, but not without a special request.
12"I’m just trying to fit in."
It’s time for the mother of the Griffin family to shine, for Lois is attempting to make herlifelong dreamof being a model come true. A short trip down memory lane is enough to reignite that spark inside her, and everyone in her family is supportive.
Her husband, Peter, expresses that he will love her pictures as a model — possibly referring to something different from what Meg understands. Trying to be a supportive daughter, she chants that she will enjoy Lois’ pictures but is met with Peter’s horrified response. Meg innocently confesses that she only tries to follow the current, as her family members all support Lois.
In the episode titled “Meg Stinks!” Meg becomes the heart of the story. Her academic achievements are out in the open, and they start touring for universities for her to go to. She ends up spending the day with her father, Peter, which, in a weird way, both brings them closer and drives them further apart.

Just when they start to bond, Peter puts on his bully hat and starts teasing Meg, just as usual. His childish behavior prompts Meg to ask him why he even had a family — and his answer is just as silly, yet real: “I don’t know. I was dating your mother, and I don’t like the way condoms feel. The next thing you know, I got a mortgage, a kid, and a crappy job at a toy factory.”
