The six-episode first season is set in Los Angeles, on the other side of the country from Rick and the rest ofThe Walking Deadsurvivors. We reported earlier this month that, likeRobert Kirkman’s original comic books andThe Walking Dead, fans won’t learn what actually starts the zombie plague. The spinoff is, however, set in the early days of the outbreak, telling a “parallel story” that explores how the undead outbreak affects the West Coast. AMC hasn’t announced exactly whenFear the Walking Deadwill debut, but it is scheduled to begin its six-episode run sometime in late summer.
