Earlier today, 20th Century Fox announced that a new trailer forX-Men: Apocalypsewill debut tomorrow, Monday, April 25. DirectorBryan Singeris still in post-production, putting the finishing touches on this highly-anticipated superhero adventure, and over the weekend, the director debuted anew photothat gives us our first look at a character we didn’t even know was included in the movie: The Blob. The image also gives us a new look atBen Hardy’s Archangel, who was seemingly engaging in a martial arts cage match with this overweight mutant.

The director’s caption on hisInstagramphoto reads, “Mutant Martial Arts. Light as a feather,” while the photo shows The Blob knocked out cold in the middle of this cage. It isn’t known who is actually playing The Blob, a.k.a. Fred Dukes, who, in the comics, was an obese circus freak who has superhuman strength and claims to be “immovable” when he so desires. Since this photo features The Blob knocked out cold, perhaps he’ll be sporting a new set of powers for this movie. The Blob was previously portrayed byKevin Durandin the 2009 superhero prequelX-Men Origins: Wolverine.
