Production on Season 2 of Prime Video’sGen Vis well underway, and was announced by the show’s cast via a series of Instagram posts celebrating the return to set. Production on the show was due to begin months ago, but was postponed due to thetragic passing of one of the show’s leads, Chance Perdomo.

Leading cast members,Derek Luh(Jordan Li) andLizzie Broadway(Emma Meyer), both took to Instagram to announce the show’s return to production. Luh posted two photos, the first showing his trailer door with his character’s name in the window, and the second a selfie (presumably in the trailer). Broadway posted two similarly styled photos. The first showed her chair on set with her character’s name printed on the back, and the second was also a selfie from her trailer. Underneath the photos, Broadway wrote"I missed you [Gen V]". Gen V Season 2 Will Honor Chance Perdomo

Following the tragic passing of Perdomo, who played Andre Anderson, a ‘supe’ with thepower of magnetism manipulation, production was completely halted onGen V. As well as being respectful to the actor, the pause also gave the series' creators, Seth Rogan, Evan Goldberg, and Eric Kripke, time to plan how the show would progress without one of its leading stars. Following Perdomo’s passing, the producers of the series released a statement onInstagram, saying,“As we continue to navigate the tragic loss of Chance Perdomo, everyone at Gen V is determined to find the best way to pay respect to his memory.“The statement continued:

“We won’t be recasting the role, because no one can replace Chance. Instead, we have been taking the time and space to recraft our Season 2 storylines as we begin production in May. We will honor Chance and his legacy this season.”
