After three months of production, filming has finally wrapped on Netflix’sGilmore Girls Revival Event Series. We still don’t know when we may see the first trailer, or when Netflix will announce the premiere date, but today we have one final photo from the set, featuring series starsLauren GrahamandScott Patterson. We’ll have to wait and see if any of their other co-stars will post final photos from the set later on today.
The photo was posted onScott Patterson’s officialTwitteraccount, where he claimedLauren Grahamshould just be handed her Emmy award now for her portrayal ofLorelai Gilmore. We’ll have to wait and see what Emmy voters have to say about that when the show premieres later this year, althoughNetflixhasn’t had a problem with its original programming getting an Emmy nod in the past. The show will offer a definitive ending to the series that allows creatorAmy Sherman-Palladinoto conclude the show on her own terms, since she left the original series before the final season due to a contract dispute.
The event series will be comprised of four feature-length movies, which span each of the four seasons, winter, spring, summer and autumn. The season will bring back your favorite Stars Hollow residents fromGilmore Girls- Lorelai Gilmore (Lauren Graham), Rory Gilmore (Alexis Bledel), Emily Gilmore (Kelly Bishop), Luke Danes (Scott Patterson), Sookie St. James (Melissa McCarthy) and many more - picking up life nine years after the originalGilmore Girlssigned off the air. Other stars of the original series such asYanic Truesdale,Jared Padalecki,Milo Ventimiglia,Matt CzuchryandLiza Weilare also returning, along with special guest starsSutton FosterandMae Whitman.
Amy Sherman-Palladinocreated the event series and will executive produce with her husbandDaniel Palladino, both of whom are writing and directing the series. We learned in the first photos to surface from this series that Rory Gilmore is now a teacher inStars Hollow, and the revival will be set approximately eight years after the series went off the air.Gilmore Girlsran for seven seasons between 2000 and 2007 on The WB and The CW, with its run spanning 153 episodes.
We reported last month that originalGilmore GirlsproducerGavin Poloneis suing Warner Bros. Television, claiming they owe him nearly $200,000 in compensation for theGilmore Girls Revival Event Series. We haven’t heard any updates on this lawsuit yet, but it seems that it didn’t affect the production at all.
