When the very firstSuicide Squadtrailer hit, fans were quick to call outMargot Robbie’s Harley Quinn as their favorite. And many believe she will steal the show from other such heavy hitters asWill Smith’s Deadshot,Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje’s Killer Croc andJared Letoas The Joker. Someone who agrees with this assessment isMargot Robbieherself, who has no qualms about calling out her Harley Quinn as the best in this bunch of super villains. She had this to say about slipping into the insane mindset of the Maiden of Mischief.

“I thought that I had the best character in the movie. I wouldn’t trade my character in Suicide Squad for anyone else’s.”

There still is so much we don’t know aboutMargot Robbie’s big screen alter ego. First introduced in theBatmananimated series from 1992 (and not the comics), she quickly became a fan-favorite. She is a frequent accomplice of The Joker, and even sometimes his lover. Though they have a contentious relationship that will spill over into the movie. Her origin story has her working as a psychiatrist at Arkham Asylum, where the Joker is a patient. It is believed thatSuicide Squadwill explore this aspect of the character, and that we will get to seeHarley Quinnbefore her transformation, back when she was known only asDr. Harleen Frances Quinzel, M.D. About exploring the comic books and animated TV series upon which her character is based,Robbiehad this to say.

“The comics are rad. I hadn’t read any growing up, but now I’m obsessed. I read them in my own time. We went toComic-Conthis year and I didn’t get to be in and amongst it because we were shooting, but the energy is insane. People are nuts. I could go as Harley Quinn in the actual costume from the movie, and somebody there would have a better one.”

Speaking with Oyster,Robbiereveals that directorDavid Ayerdidn’t make her audition for the role. He sent her the script, and basically offered her the part on the spot. Judging from the trailers released thus far, Harley Quinn andDeadshotare at the forefront of the action, serving as the movie’s two primary leads in an adventure that has a very big ensemble cast.

It isn’t know when we’ll get to see more of Harley in action.Suicide Squadis in theaters this August. And while it’s still too early to tell how the DC adventure will fare at the box office, Warner Bros. is confident enough in the movie that they are already planning a sequel. If a follow-up does move forward, it will be directed byDavid Ayerand starWill Smith. Though, as forMargot Robbie, she has not been confirmed forSuicide Squad 2. But if she’s the best thing in the movie? You can pretty much guess that it’s guaranteed. Unless she dies in the first chapter of this super villain saga. But what’s ever stopped a mad woman from coming back from the grave?
