Back at Station 19, there’s more drama going on with Captain Sean Beckett’s (Josh Randall) job on the line after Robert Sullivan (Boris Kodjoe) told Chief Ross about his alcoholism. Then we have Ben Warren’s (Jason George) dilemma about his job since Dean Miller’s (Okieriete Onaodowan) parents’ only request to give them full custody of Pru was that he needs to quit his position as a firefighter.

Station 19 cast

As we mentioned, this episode had a lot going on. But the most captivating stories revolved around a family dinner, a break-up, and the sexual assault that may have resulted in someone’s death. There’s clearly a lot to unpack with this episode, so let’s get right to it.

The Inevitable Break-Up

Travis (Jay Hayden) was invited over to Emmett’s (Lachlan Buchanan) parents’ home for dinner with his parents. The night kicked off on the wrong note right from the start, with Emmett’s mother calling Travis by the wrong name and his father (Pat Healy) telling Emmett to man up and drink hard liquor instead of wine.

While the couple was there, Emmett’s mom was showing Travis all of his childhood photos, and his parents casually criticized all the “entitled millennials” at Station 19. The night continued to get more awkward, with Emmett’s father complaining about themembers of the LGBTQ communityand his mother revealing that his father is in the running to be the Mayor and has plans to end the Crisis One intervention program. This led to Travis and Emmett’s father ending up in a screaming match. And the only time Emmett decided to be a part of the conversation was when his father insisted that Emmett only turned gay after meeting Travis. But Travis wasn’t having any of it and immediately pointed out the lack of Emmett’s confrontation with his family.

It was clear that their feelings for each other had changed, and later, while on the porch, they decided that they shouldn’t be together, with Emmett also revealing that he’s headed to Florence for an art program.

The Assault We Didn’t See Coming

The episode starts with Station 23 firefighters saying goodbye to their house. Andy feels left out when her fellow firefighters ask her to click a group picture and not be in it. She did request Fire Chief Ross to send her back to Station 19. All she said was she would try but kept no promises. After their goodbyes, the team heads to the bar nearby to commiserate. While Andy consoles Theo and everybody else from Station 23, she orders multiple rounds of drinks and a shot of tequila. With all this alcohol, Andy lets herself loose and tells Theo about her conversation with the Chief, and he quickly realizes that it was because of her conversation that sparked the closure of Station 23. She tried her best to explain to everyone, but nobody wanted to listen, and they left the bar extremely upset.

While she was with her teammates, she was introduced to Jeremy (Daniel Di Tomasso), a friend of Maddox who has been eyeing how much she’s been drinking all night long. After the team leaves her at the bar,Jeremy comes to her and starts flirting. It was fun and playful until they both walked out of the bar completely drunk and falling, with him wanting to be intimate with her. But Andy insists that she cannot do that. Despite saying no multiple times, he forces himself on her. Andy manages to fight back and hits him in the throat. We see him fall to the ground as he struggles to breathe while she makes a dash for it. And that’s where the episode ends.
