In a world full of remakes, revivals, sequels, and the like, some viewers really want new, original content to consume. That doesn’t meanif a show is revivedthat it’s automatically going to be horrible. There will just be a group of people watching, closely examining each episode and an actor’s performance to complain about something — anything, really. Hate-watching isn’t new, but it is contradictory. And Just Like That…officially came to an end with the final episode airing on June 01, 2025. While many understood why it was time for Carrie Bradshaw and her friends to finally sign off, it was nice seeingthe fan-favorite character backon television years later. The series was set 11 years after the events of the 2010 filmSex and the City 2, and viewers saw the friends thriving in their 50s, but not without the struggles of life. Parker, who has played Bradshaw for a little under three decades, said that she really doesn’t pay attention to haters, according toVariety.
I don’t think I have the constitution to have spent a lot of time thinking about that. We always worked incredibly hard to tell stories that were interesting or real. I guess I don’t really care. And the reason I don’t care is because it has been so enormously successful, and the connections it has made with audiences have been very meaningful.
It’s not unusual for a sequel to bring back the original show’s core audience and gain new fans, but it’s also not easy to accomplish.And Just Like That…kept the attention of viewers wholoved the central characters of Carrie, Miranda Hobbes, and Charlotte York Goldenblatt, plus introduced them to new characters to enjoy. Even individuals who were hate-watching must’ve enjoyed some aspect of the series, because who would tune in to something completely horrible?

Many shows don’t get the opportunity to end when they want to; they get canceled and left on cliffhangers that leave fans annoyed with the way networks handle their productions.And Just Like That…ending was a decisionmade by Parker and the series creator, and when asked if she felt good about the decision, Parker said, “Absolutely. I feel good about her. I think she’s set up pretty well.”
In terms of haters, Parker also added, “I think you’re going to perhaps read things or hear things thatdon’t always feel great. When you’re part of a community, people are going to have a lot of feelings. And it doesn’t mean that a feeling can’t change, it’s a reaction. We want very much for people to have all those feelings, and it’s not for us to police or attempt to correct them.”
