Is a Marvel and DC TV Crossover Possible?

While we still have a few months to go before the first superhero movie of 2015,Marvel’sAvengers: Age of Ultron, fans can get their fix on the small screen tonight with the premiere of ABC’sMarvel’s Agent Carter, and later this month with the return ofDC ComicsshowsArrowandThe Flash. With the growing popularity of the superhero genre in both film and television, some fans are wondering if it would ever be possible for both theMarveland DC TV universes to cross over on the small screen. While this crossover is highly unlikely, given the network and studio logistics needed to be worked out,ArrowproducerMarc Guggenheimand his wife,Marvel’s Agent CarterproducerTara Butters, revealed in an interview withThe Hollywood Reporterthat they would be up for the challenge. Here’s whatMarc Guggenheimhad to say about the possibility of anArrowandMarvel’s Agent Cartercrossover.

“I would love to. I always love a challenge. I love doing something crazy outside the box. I think part of the challenge is the time, but also making the two tones work. It’s like super challenging.”

Marc Guggenheim’s wifeTara Buttersadded that she would love to seeMarvel’s Agent Carter’s Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell) interact withArrow’s Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell), because she thinks Peggy would be Oliver’s greatest adversary.

“It would be interesting to seeHayley AtwellandStephen Amellin scenes together because in some ways she would be his most formidable foil. Because I feel like he wouldn’t know what to do with her. And she would not have any time for his broodiness.”

When asked if there would be any chance for romance between Peggy and Oliver,Marvel’s Agent Carter’sMichele Fazekasadded that Oliver doesn’t stand a chance with Peggy.

“Look, she was dating Captain America! I don’t think he has the pecs for it!”

Naturally, even if this crossover were to happen, it would still be several years away, especially sinceMarvel’s Agent Carterhasn’t even debuted yet, and it remains to be seen how the show will be received by the fans. However,Marc Guggenheimadded that he would like one of DC’s most popular big screen superheroes to make an appearance inArrow, Batman.

“At the end of the day it’d be so awesome to have Batman on the show. That’d be really cool. I don’t think that will be happening anytime soon, but you never know… one day.”
