Jack Quaidserved a slam dunk of a marketing stunt for his new movieNovocaineduring a recent NBA game. The actor attended the Sacramento Kings vs. Los Angeles Clippers game on Mar. 9, but he was spotted looking a little worse for wear. Quaid was seated next to hisNovocainecostar, Amber Midthunder, but he didn’t appear to be having the best time — not because of the action unfolding on the court, but rather the action that was happening away from it. He looked like he had been beaten up as he sported several bruises and bandages, with his injuries only getting progressively worse as the night went on.
Quaid’s suffering scored some laughs from the crowd, as he appeared on the jumbotron at various points throughout the night, each time with a new cut or cast to add insult to injury… literally. Fans in the arena documented the torture and posted clips on social media for others to witness. A video montage, shared on X/Twitter by Pop Crave (seen below), started with footage of the actor looking to be in high spirits, clapping and cheering along to the game. However, his movements are slightly restricted as his arm is in a sling. “Is it just me… or is Jack Quaid getting worse as this game goes on?” the person quizzed in the caption.

‘Novocaine’ Review: Jack Quaid Elicits Laughter, Cheers, & Grimaces in a Gnarly Action-Comedy
Nathan Caine (Jack Quaid), a man who can feel no pain, tries to rescue his kidnapped girlfriend (Amber Midthunder).
The video then cuts to another clip of Quaid being interviewed on camera and, while he suggests that he is “so happy” to be at the game, his appearance tells a different story. This time, his face is covered in blood and bruises while his neck is supported by a brace. “Where’d he get the neck brace!?” the caption asks. Further footage shows Quaid posing with Midthunder, who doesn’t seem to have been subjected to the same suffering. His head had gained a bandage by this point, prompting the person filming to call for medical attention. “Somebody getNovocaineover here to the hospital,” they wrote, name-dropping the actor’s next feature, which has beendescribed as “an action movie for horror fans.”

‘The Boys’ Actor Is Quite Used to Being Bloodied and Bruised
Quaid fans shouldn’t be overly concerned about the actor’s beat-up appearance, as it is nothing more than a hilariously brutal piece of marketing forNovocaine, which hits theaters on Mar. 14. He stars in the upcoming movie as Nathan “Nate” Caine, a man who turns his inability to feel pain into an unexpected advantage as he sets out on a dangerous mission to rescue the girl of his dreams after she is taken hostage by a bunch of thugs. It has already punched its way toan impressive Rotten Tomatoes debut, even if it is a pain to watch.
The actor is quite used to being bloodied and bruised, being one of the main stars of Prime Video’s wildly entertaining satirical superhero seriesThe Boys.Quaid’s Hughie Campbell has been showered in guts and gore across the show’s four-season run, and it doesn’t look like it’s going to ease up for him. Abloody behind-the-scenes lookat the fifth and final season hinted that Hughie is going to be put through the wringer once more.

Novocainewill be released in theaters on June 18, 2025.
