Appearing at aSupernaturalfan convention over the weekend, Jensen Ackles had informed fans that Padalecki was"lucky to be alive"after he was involved in a “very bad” accident. On Tuesday, Padalecki took toTwitterto post an update about the situation, letting fans know he appreciates the support and that he’s doing well enough to hopefully be back on set by the end of the week. you’re able to see the tweet below.

“Hey y’all! I want to thank everyone for the outpouring of love,” Padlecki said. “I’m definitely on the mend and hoping to return to filming later this week. I’m so lucky to have had the best care and be surrounded by people who love me. So grateful for everyone.”

According to Ackles, Padalecki wasn’t driving and was in the passenger seat when the accident happened. Things could have turned out worse if not for the airbag, which “packs a punch” and left Padalecki feeling like he “went 12 rounds with Tyson.” Once the news started to spread, people were sending Padalecki well wishes on social media, and his name was trending before long as thousands of fans joined in.

Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles have kept in close contact sinceSupernaturalwrapped its 15-season run, even if they’ve gone on to work on separate projects. For his part, Padalecki stuck around at The CW by starring inWalker, the network’s reboot ofWalker, Texas Ranger. Last month, the series was renewed for season 3, so Padalecki will be sticking around in that role for some time to come.

Ackles has also teamed back up withSupernaturalcreator Eric Kripke with his role as Soldier Boy in the upcoming third season ofThe Boys. His involvement has gotten a lot of fans especially excited about the acclaimed superhero show’s third season, which is set to start streaming on Prime Video in June.
