Jensen Acklesand Misha Collins, co-stars onSupernatural, almost reunited in a new series on The CW.Gotham Knights, the next production of the network using characters from DC Comics, will show a Gotham City devastated by the death ofBatman. However, The Dark Knight will make a small appearance and could have done so with Ackles' face.
The actors shared the screen in the supernatural drama that follows brothers Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Ackles), who after the death of their father decide to continue the family business defeating monsters, demons and more. In the show’s fourth season, Misha Collins' angel Castiel made his debut, quickly becoming a fan-favorite character who ended up accompanying the leads to the very end.

In an interview withMultiverse of Color, Collins, who will play Harvey Dent in Gotham Knights, revealed that his former co-star almost joined the project to play Bruce Wayne:
“Ah, yes. Yes, there was. I don’t know if I’m supposed to reveal this, but we tried to work it out to have Jensen play Batman on the show. It was all kind of teed up, but unfortunately, Jensen was on another show at the time [laughs], and coordinating between two series is challenging. So it didn’t ultimately end up working out, but we tried. Jensen was pretty psyched about the prospect at one point because he does the voice of Batman for the animated movies. It would have been a great tie-in, and I thought it would be super fun too. But unfortunately, that didn’t work out, and I thought it would be super fun too. But unfortunately, that didn’t work out.”

What’s Gotham Knights About?
Batman is dead and a tinderbox has torched Gotham without The Dark Knight to protect it. Following the murder of Bruce Wayne, his adoptive son Turner Hayes is framed for killing him, along with the children of some of Batman’s enemies: Duela, an unpredictable fighter and skilled thief who was born in Arkham Asylum and abandoned by her father; Harper Row, a cunning and sharp-tongued engineer who can fix anything; and his brother Cullen Row, a smart transgender teen who’s tired of being nice and polite.
With the charismatic and hard-nosed District Attorney Harvey Dent and the police hot on their trail, Turner will rely on allies, including his best friend and formidable coder Stephanie Brown and Batman’s unlikely partner Carrie Kelley. But our Knights will soon learn that there is a larger and more nefarious force at work within Gotham City. This team of disparate fugitives must come together to become their next generation of saviors.
