Attack the BlockstarJohn Boyegahas provided a promising update on the long-awaited sequel. While attending the premiere of director Jordan Peele’sNope, Boyega was asked byDeadline Hollywoodabout the progress ofAttack the Block 2, to which he replied:
“We’re in the lab. We’re cooking, we’re cooking. I sat down with Joe Cornish just literally a few weeks ago. So expect some news soon. We’re still in development but we’re cooking something real sweet. We’ll have something soon.”

So, if nothing else, it certainly sounds likeAttack the Block 2is happening. Boyega revealed that he and returning directorJoe Cornishare still actively working on the project, even adding that we should expect some news about the sequel “soon.” Fans have been waiting for a follow-up for over a decade now, but following such a positive update from Boyega, no doubt they can continue to patiently wait a little longer.

Attack the Block 2Will See Both John Boyega & Joe Cornish Return
This is not the first time that Boyega has teased the eventual arrival ofAttack the Block 2. Last year, the actor hinted at his and director Joe Cornish’s plans for the sequel, which will lean into contemporary London and reflect how things have changed since the release of the first outing all those years ago.
“It’s been a decade since Attack the Block was released and so much has changed since then,” Boyega said. “I’m excited to see this heightened story return to the streets of London. Moses has remained one of my favorite characters to play and bringing him back is a huge honor.”
Attack the Block 2will see both John Boyega and director Joe Cornish return, with the latter also revealing his excitement over bringing Moses and the gang back. “I’m thrilled we’re officially announcing our return to the world of Attack the Block on the tenth anniversary of the film’s release,” Cornish said last year. “I can’t wait to work alongside John again, bringing audiences an even bigger slice of inner-city alien action.”
