Fast and Furious 9starJohn Cenawould love the chance to reunite with his newfound family in the upcoming sequelFast 10. The WWE superstar-slash-actor, who is currently appearing as the antiheroPeacemakeron HBO Max, recently revealed toGood Morning Americathat, while it’s unlikely audiences will see him wearing the shiny, toilet seat-esque helmet inFast and Furious 10, he is hopeful that you will see him return as Jakob Toretto.

“I can tell you this: you probably won’t see me in Fast 10 dressed like [Peacemaker], but I really hope you see me in Fast 10. I know they’re gearing up for production and I would love nothing more than to return to the franchise. I’m a big fan myself.”

John Cena made his debut in theFast and Furiousfranchise in the most recent outing,F9, as the long-lost brother of Vin Diesel’s Dominic Toretto. Now a master thief, assassin, high-performance driver, and rogue agent, Jakob begins the movie as the villain before making amends with Dom during the finale. While there has been no word regarding John Cena’s return, with bothFast 10andFast 11due to bring the franchise to a close, it is likely that the Toretto brothers will ride again before the end.

Besides, Vin Diesel will no doubt be looking to add some more muscle to proceedings thanks toDwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s recent rejection of his offer to return as Agent Luke Hobbs. Diesel had reached out to The Rock via social media, and instantly began on a questionable note by referring to Johnson as “My little brother Dwayne.” Diesel then tried to appeal to Johnson on a personal level saying, “my children refer to you as Uncle Dwayne in my house.” After some references to legacy and love, Diesel concluded by saying, “Hobbs can’t be played by no other. I hope that you rise to the occasion and fulfill your destiny.”

The Rock Will Not Return for Fast 10 and Fast 11

Somewhat unsurprisingly, Johnson did not react too favorably to any of this. Rejecting Diesel’s invitation, The Rock clarified the situation, revealing that he had “told [Diesel] directly that I would not be returning to the franchise. I was firm yet cordial with my words and said that I would always be supportive of the cast and always root for the franchise to be successful, but that there was no chance I would return.”

The Rock continued, explaining that it is this exact sort of behavior that led the public falling out between the two action stars in the first place. “Vin’s recent public post was an example of his manipulation,” Johnson said. “I didn’t like that he brought up his children in the post, as well as Paul Walker’s death. Leave them out of it. We had spoken months ago about this and came to a clear understanding.”

Sadly, audiences will have to wait a little longer to see whatFast 10has in store,as Universal Pictures recently delayed the action flick from a release date of August 15, 2025, to June 26, 2025. Would you like to see John Cena’s Jakob Toretto make a comeback?
