Jon Hammhas joined the season three cast of Apple TV+‘sThe Morning Show,Variety reports. The actor has been cast as Paul Marks, a “corporate titan who sets his sights on UBA, pulling Cory, Alex and Bradley into his powerful orbit.” Hamm’s casting news follows his Emmy-nominated commercialEveryone but Jon Hamm,where the actor mentions A-list actors with projects on the streamer and asks, “but what about Jon Hamm?”

Homeland’sCharlotte Stoudt is also joining the series as showrunner, replacing Kerry Ehrin, with production scheduled to begin next month.The Morning Showstars Reese Witherspoon, Jennifer Aniston, Steve Carrell, Billy Crudup, Mark Duplass, Nestor Carbonell and Karen Pittman. During its second season, the series received three Emmy nominations: Witherspoon for best lead actress in a drama, Crudup for best supporting actor in a drama, and for Marcia Gay Harden for best guest actress in a drama. In 2020, Crudup won the Emmy Award for supporting actor in a drama, while Aniston received a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series.

Aniston and Kristin Hahn executive produce under the Echo Films banner, while Witherspoon and Lauren Neustadter executive produce under Hello Sunshine. Media Res’ Michael Ellenberg also executive produces, while Mimi Leder serves as director and executive producer.

Hamm is best known for his portrayal of Don Draper on AMC’sMad Men, which earned him two Golden Globes and an Emmy Award. Most recently, the actor appeared as himself on Larry David’sCurb Your Enthusiasm, and the blockbuster hitTop Gun: Maverickas Beau ‘Cyclone’ Simpson.

In June, it was announced that Hamm, Juno Temple, and Jennifer Jason Leigh had been cast in season five of Noah Howley’s anthology seriesFargo, with production scheduled to begin this fall. The series will be the most contemporary of allFargoseasons, set in 2019. While plot details remain mostly unknown, the official logline asks, “when is a kidnapping not a kidnapping, and what if your wife isn’t yours?”

This fall, Hamm will appear inConfess, Fletch, opposite Marcia Gay Harden and Kyle MacLachlan. The comedy is based on a book of the same name by Gregory McDonald. It is a reboot of the 1980s filmsFletchandFletch Lives, which starred Chevy Chase. Hamm will portray the titular character, who becomes the prime suspect in a murder case. The film is scheduled for theatrical release on September 16, before a Showtime debut on October 28.
