We are getting closer and closer toThor: Ragnarokbecoming a reality.Karl Urban, who was added to the cast of the thirdThorinstallment as the villain Skurge, has officially wrapped filming his scenes for the movie. Things seem to be moving along quite smoothly on directorTaika Waititi’s first big budget movie, which can only be good news for fans of the God of Thunder, his trickster brother Loki and The Hulk.
Karl Urbantook to hisTwitterto declare that he has indeed finished his work onThor: Ragnarokand that he had quite a good time filming it. The actor posted a photo ofTaika Waititidoing his thing to go along with his announcement and he had nothing but kind words to say about the director, Marvel, as well as the cast and crew. Here is what he had to say.

Mark Ruffalo, who will also be along for the ride inThor: Ragnarok, has also wrapped filming, so it is fairly likely thatprincipal photographywill wrap sooner rather than later.Karl Urbanwas not the only big, new name to join the cast ofThor 3, which is shaping up to be something we are really looking forward to. Oscar winnerCate Blanchetthas also joined the cast as primary villain Hela,Jeff Goldblumwill be taking on the role of Grandmaster andCreedstarTessa Thompsonwill be taking on the role as Valkyrie to do battle alongsideChris Hemsworth’s Thor. And also quite possibly as a love interest, sinceNatalie Portmanwill not be returning as Jane Foster.
While we haven’t been given an official synopsis forThor 3as of yet, we do know a few things about the plot of the movie. For one, it will at least be partially adapting the belovedPlanet Hulkstoryline from the comics, which is something fans have been craving in the Marvel Cinematic Universe for quite some time. We also know that it has been described as a “buddy cop” road movie with Thor and Bruce Banner/The Hulk joining forces to take down the bad guys in the movie. There are alsorumorsthatBenedict Cumberbatchmay be making an appearance in the movie asDoctor Strangeand that at least part of the movie will be taking place on Earth, or Midgard, as it were.
Thor: Ragnarokadded a lot of new talent, likeKarl UrbanandWhat We Do in the ShadowsdirectorTaika Waititi, but there will be a lot of familiar faces returning for this installment as well. As mentioned,Chris Hemsworthwill once again be putting the hammer down as Thor,Tom Hiddlestonis having at least one more go as Loki,Mark Ruffalois coming back as Bruce Banner/The Hulk,Anthony Hopkinsis returning as Odin and The Warriors Three are also set to appear.Thor: Ragnarokis set for release on August 05, 2025.
