‘Love Hurts’ May Not Have Been A Hit With Critics, But Fans Mostly Enjoyed It

Love Hurtswas produced by 87North, the same company who made the enjoyable and stylized — as well as deeply action-heavy — popcorn flicksNobody(which starred Bob Odenkirk) andBullet Train(which starred a murderers' row of talent, including Brad Pitt, Joey King, Bad Bunny, Brian Tyree Henry, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and more). The film falls in line with those others aesthetically speaking, and, frankly, would make up a really rollicking triple-header movie day if you’re ever feeling like having a couchrot day full of action flicks.

The official synopsis forLove Hurts, which was released by Universal, is as follows:

Like it or not, Marvin finds himself back in a wild world of wisecracking hitmen with his open houses erupting into war zones. He’ll need his lethal fighting skills, wit, and heroism to survive and save the day in this action/comedy epic.

Love Hurtsalso marked the directorial debut of award-winning stunt designer Jonathan Eusebio, and featured the acting talents of Mustafa Shakir, Lio Tipton, Cam Gigandet, Marshawn “Beastmode” Lynch, and Quan’sGooniesco-star, Sean Astin. Matthew Murray, Josh Stoddard, and Luke Passmore wrote the script. Kelly McCormick, David Lynch, and Guy Danella produced the film alongside executive producer Ben Ormand.
