Some people truly know how to give us a memorable moment. And a stage like that atthe 2025 Oscarsis certainly the place to give or — or at least attempt to give it. Some speeches were entertaining, others informative. Most all of them were emotional, but only one speech managed to “win” the night as the most-watched Oscars speech, an honor that belongs to he of ample faith,Kieran Culkin. The winner of this year’sBest Supporting Actor statueat the Academy Awards also managed to win the night when it came to speeches, charming folks with his anecdotes and off-the-cuff energy.
His speech may not have been the longest — that, um, honor goes to Adrien Brody — but it was definitely the one that gained the most laughs and online views. According to a list originally rounded up byTheWrap(which we confirmed with our own research), Kieran Culkin’s acceptance speech had everything, including callbacks to an earlier winning speech of his own, a funny anecdote about his wife, and a no-pressure, but totally pressure-filled, proposition. you’re able to watch it all in the video below.

Here’s Every Award on Kieran Culkin’s Trophy Shelf (So Far)
‘Succession’ and ‘A Real Pain’ star Kieran Culkin is collecting acting trophies at an outstanding rate. Here is everything he has won so far.
Kieran Culkin Thanks His Wife And Begs For More Kids In 2025 Oscars Speech
Beating out Guy Pearce (The Brutalist), Yuriy Borisov (Anora), Edward Norton (A Complete Unknown) and Culkin’sSuccessionbrother, Jeremy Strong (The Apprentice), the speech felt likea continuation of his 2024 Emmy speech. Probably because, in many ways, it was exactly that.
“Please don’t play the music, because I want to tell a really quick story about Jazz,” the actor began, before recounting his antics from the Emmys and how his wife felt about that speech (where he asked for a third child):

“A year ago, I said that I wanted a third kid, because she said if I won the award, she would give me the kid. Turns out she said that because she didn’t think I was going to win. Anyway, after the show, we’re walking through a parking lot. She’s holding the Emmy, and she goes, ‘Oh, god, I did say that. I guess I owe you a third kid.’ I turned to her and said, ‘Really, I want four.’ And she turned to me — I swear to god this happened, and Allison you were there, so you’re a witness — and said, ‘I will give you four when you win an Oscar.’ I held my hand out, she shook it, and I have not brought it up once until just now. You remember that, honey?”
The affair launched the whole audience, including Culkin’s wife, Jazz Charton, into hysterics. The actor then ended his speech by adding, “Then I just have to say to you, Jazz, love of my life, ye of little faith — no pressure. I love you. I’m really sorry I did this again. And let’s get cracking on those kids. What do you say? I love you. I love you. I love you.” Through applause and laughter, his wife mouthed “No, absolutely not!” before Culkin walked off stage and the moment was over.

Now, far be it from us to involve ourselves in other people’s relationships, but however this shakes out — kids or not! And really it should be Charton’s choice, ultimately —we hope it results in more hilariously charming moments from Culkin, be they on stage or screen.
