Almost 20 years after the end of the acclaimed show that marked a generation,Malcolm in the Middleis still considered one of the best comedy series in the history of television.
The story of the Wilkerson familyconquered the audiencewith its irreverent humor, hilarious situations and endearing characters, and is still present on social media thanks to memes and jokes. But for Muniz, who rose to fame thanks to the series, not everything was as magical as it was for the audience. In fact, the actor has moved away from Hollywood quite a bit since his peak period of exposure, preferring to keep his life private. During an appearance on the show, Muniz talked about what was happening on the set ofMalcolm in the Middle(viaYahoo News Australia):
“There were two episodes I’m not in. I walked off the set. Everyone was so afraid to stand up when certain people were controlling or rude or disrespectful. Like they walked on pins and needles. I was so mortified by seeing people afraid to stand up for themselves, I was like: ‘Say something.’ I didn’t care if they told me I was never going back, because it was worth it to me. It helped that the show was based around me.”

Prior to his appearance on the reality show, in an interview withnews.com.au, the actor reflected on why he decided to move away from the spotlight and lead a quieter life:
“I hated LA, so I kind of stayed in my own little world, my own little bubble. And moving to Arizona, I did it on a whim, and I realized immediately that I started looking up. I started enjoying looking at trees and birds in the sky. Going to the grocery store was a fun thing. You don’t get that in LA. It’s a miserable experience.”
Is the Malcolm in the Middle Revival Happening?
There are already many shows, whether they be drama or comedy, that have returned to the screen to continue their stories or to introduce a new generation of stars, such asThat ’90s Show. So, forMalcolm in the Middleto get the opportunity to return as part of that list wouldn’t be a huge surprise. Though it would be a welcome one.

“Without giving away too much because there’s nothing confirmed, but it’s the closest it’s ever been to being a reality. If it’s going to happen, it’ll happen soon. But you know, we’ve also been saying that for eight years. The show ended 18 years ago, so it’s crazy that there’s still a lot of interest. I think it’d be a lot of fun to dive into that world and see where everybody is as adults because the possibilities are endless where everybody can be. I’d love to explore it. And I know there are conversations happening.”
